I typically go once a week during the mid-week, and I'll try to keep that routine as long as possible. I just try to go at 10 or 11 at night so there's not many people there. Note that some stores are closing earlier now though.

I'm seriously considering skipping my weekly Costco trip for awhile though, last week's visit was frightening.

But you don’t want to start tapping into your reserves too soon.

...the city lockdown might not come for several weeks.

All I have to say is that it's a blessing from God that I changed jobs last November. In my former job, working from home was not an option. And my former boss was so inhumane and didn't care whether I was sick or if there was a blizzard outside. He always wanted me to come into the office.

My new job is extremely cool about working from home, so I'm very thankful I switched to this job at the right time.

It won't take that long imho. I've been getting take out and hoping that the person who is preparing it isn't going to get me sick. I'd just like to support local businesses because I know they're all screwed.

Oh dear...you’re in New York.

My neck of the woods hasn’t gotten that bad yet, but who knows what it’s gonna be like a month from now.

What part of the city do you live in?

...I used to live in Fort Greene.

Queens. Right outside of the city.

And, yeah, we're right in the thick of it. I'm *shocked* that it's not even worse. And there's so many people that are completely blasé about it.

I had a guy want to hang out tonight after he had been to work and THEN went and played beer pong and other drinking games with friends.

Some people are figuratively giving this thing the finger and I think that's incredibly irresponsible.

I’m in Florida and in my city, there’s already several confirmed cases.

But I’ve been bedridden from recovering from my femur fracture surgery. I never go out, my mother and brother buy the essentials, so I’m not too worried for myself. What are the odds of me catching the virus when I never go to the outside world? (I guess the timing was perfect, even though I would have preferred it didn’t happen).

But as I’m not working and not making any cash anymore, I had no choice but to cancel some of my orders for discs.

Yeah I had to stop going into facebook cause I have some family members who are that way. Very dense with the whole thing. "It's nothing so serious" "It's all hype, it'll pass" etc etc.

We've got a long way to go, this is only the start. I feel its going to get much worse soon.Because of those ppl who aren't taking it seriously.

Yep. It’s going to get worse than in should in America simply because of people not taking it seriously at all.

Doesn't help you have so many obdurate people when it comes to their own personal interpretation of the constitution.

Having this kind of outlook isn't helping either. I think (hope) that it will peak soon & the worst will be behind us before you know it without civilization as we know it stopping.

Well my county in California is on semi-lockdown. No one can leave their home (All Ages) unless it's for absolute essentials.

For the US it's going to get worst unfortunately. There's several infected who don't know it. As soon as the test kits become readily available the numbers are going to bounce way up.
Already getting talk of schools not even coming back into session this school year.

We just have to be smart and deal with it rationally as it presents itself.

I’m not going to pander to the scaremongering that the media are propagating, but I‘ll post this short educational vid from the voice of reason....Dr. Berg. Not only does it briefly explain about what viruses are and what you can do to boost your immune system, but it puts everything in perspective in a calm, realistic and sensible manner. Those that are feeling even a bit stressed or worried about this ‘thing’ would do well to watch it.
