GameStop is on the very edge of going bankrupt. If they were forced to close all their stores for 2 weeks, that would put them out of business. Which IMO would be no loss. They are a horrible company to do business with and a horrible company to work for.

Yeah...they are not essential so I wonder how that will end for them.

I’m in Pennsylvania and our governor has ordered all non-life-sustaining businesses to close by 8pm tonight. So I would assume that would mean GameStop as well.

My optometrist remains open though....I guess because people need their glasses?....

I had a crush on her too man. She really went off the rails though it seems.

The world's fastest supercomputer identified chemicals that could stop coronavirus from spreading, a crucial step toward a vaccine

Quote:
Summit, IBM's supercomputer equipped with the "brain of AI," ran thousands of simulations to analyze which drug compounds might effectively stop the virus from infecting host cells.

The supercomputer identified 77 of them. It's a promising step toward creating the most effective vaccine.

Summit was commissioned by the US Department of Energy in 2014 for the purpose it's serving now -- solving the world's problems.

It's got the power of 200 petaflops, which means it has the computing speed of 200 quadrillion calculations per second, aka: It's 1 million times more powerful than the fastest laptop.

So sad. Awful that they couldn't get the anti-viral drugs to him in time.

That sounds different though (manufacturer delay) than an active Amazon decision not to restock.

If I coughed up blood, i would go to the ER right away and not fly the next day and then go.

Few people in that age range would assume the worst, especially with all the general info basically assuming 'younger people will be fine.'

I hate buzzwords. They give me goosebumps.

I was told one today. Apparently if someone is obsessed with another persons life, they are ‘Living in their head rent free’.

I genuinely get goosebumps when people keep repeating manufactured sayings. I should go to the doctor’s!

US cases are starting to ramp. Especially in NY. 8,000 tests done overnight in NY; 1,152 more additional confirmed infected.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/19/healt...day/index.html

I hate to say this, but big cities with cases are going to have to lock down to keep the rest of the country outside the cities from getting infected via community acquisition/community spread. Los Angeles included, unfortunately. (edit: I mean, spread more than it already has. lock it down from tourists, shelter in place)
