All the details in depth:

oh major thanks for that link, great read.

the last scene was shot in Washington DC ?? I live in DC and that looked like a generic studio set, where exactly did they film that? Too bad the truck chase scene, and specifically the jump into the air didn't expand to 1.90, that would have been epic. That moment, visually and aurally in 12 channel sound, the crescendo of Zimmer's score and that moment when she leaps into the air

Everyone who works on a film is paid well before a film is even finished in post.
And if piracy makes any kind of dent in the bottom line (which would be super marginal at best) they would not be using day and date releasing on HBO Max, which is most certainly going to get pirated the minute they air.
The idea that crew behind the scenes get hurt by piracy is a complete myth. By the time the sets are struck, the entire crew has been paid.
This is shallow reasoning. All it means is that it won't directly effect pay for those people that directly worked on the film you're stealing, because <chuckle>, "they've already been paid".

Revenue is still lost, that comes from somewhere, and that somewhere is not the stockholder's dividends. The profits for them will still come, and those funds will come from consumers and jobs in the industry.

If you really believe that piracy does not affect the livelihoods of those that work in that industry, then you're really grasping at excuses to make yourself feel more comfortable with piracy. I'm not here to enforce anti-piracy, I'm simply asking you to be honest with yourself about the effects of theft.

It's not a fallacy.

Chris

This must have been discussed on this forum before.
Absolutely correct. This is what people who don’t want to pay to see movies or listen to music just can’t get into their thick skulls. No profits no more product. It’s called the film business for a reason, it’s a business, investing money in order to make money. No money made, no more investment. No investment, no more films, no more work for technicians or actors.

Since most Wonder Woman 1984 topics are locked some more info.

Captured on Kodak 35mm, 65mm and IMAX 65mm film formats, 'Wonder Woman 1984' delivers a shot of pure heroine!

Good God, I just saw this absurd post. I've worked in the movie business since the early 90s and continue to do so. Of course crew are paid before a video release, which comes a year or more after they performed services on the movie. Piracy's damage to rank-and-file crew is based on whether or not movies continue to be made -- and at what price point. The bigger the show, the more people are hired, and the better they get paid. To suggest otherwise is absolute nonsense. Piracy kills jobs. I've seen it firsthand.

Wouldn’t be the only recent movie to not get a 4K disc. Little Women didn’t get one either, 4K DI/DCP.
