Today I viewed Alita for the third time. The last time I felt this way for a movie, was when a star destroyer flew over my head in 1977 and it took months for me to pick my jaw off the ground. I eventually saw Star Wars 17 times in the theater. So no need to go into detail of my impressions here, on the beauty of the Alita
![]() My general comments: I saw this movie twice in IMAX 3D last week and today in a new theater with a laser projector, 2D, and Atmos sound. I thoroughly enjoyed the 3D presentation. Todays 2D presentation took it to another level however. The screen was much brighter than the 3D and the detail that could be seen in Alitas face and the texture of her clothes was just phenomenal. I certainly believe it will be even better on a high end 4K display. I also liked the Dolby Atmos sound better than the IMAX sound. So Saltys rating on a scale of one to five: IMAX 3D ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

No I am a phan of fysical discs, no doubt...4K, 3D, BR, SACD, BR Audio, DVD Audio, LP, CD, HDCD, 33, 45, 15, ... Maxwell. |

Tom Cruise is worth way more money than the film director of 'Cold War' who cannot afford color cameras and is monitoring on old 4:3 screen aspect ratio monitors. Even his actors couldn't get into one language for all; he had to let them all speak their own languages...six of them all together in his film. Carbon Black would probably never fly anyway, unlike Maverick. Those Navy guys sure well know how to make/invent fake stories on Facebook and Twitter. It's a good thing that they have Navy officials to direct them in the proper order. Discipline is important on a Navy ship, very. |

not sure if the over than 100,00 views in less than 2 weeks since 2/7 - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...n#post16059461
has been mostly related to exclusive postings about Top Gun: Maverick or HDR, 4K and beyond, but congrats to all the contributors for the past couple weeks ![]() |

My guess: HDR certainly as it is the main title, but more importantly your positive feedback on all things fun in life, including Top Gun: Maverick, your educative and fun insights, the good contributers/members/readership who all appreciate all good stuff, filmmaking, moving pictures, fighter jets, behind the scenes, photos, videos, articles, great links, humorous lines and YouTube videos, somehow all chain related together in a spirit of harmony, good camaraderie, smart advancement in living life happy and more knowledgeable. Penton-Man you are number one and you encourage team work. That @ the end is what pays off, what brings a large audience to your positive vision sharing all things HDR and beyond. That's my best guess. |

Samsung will release two SoC variants for its Galaxy S10 phones (i.e. S10e, S10 & S10+), one being the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 for the United States in particular and the other its homegrown Exynos 9820.
https://www.you tube.com/watch?v=ISjiJQGJ72o&t=1840s ![]() As the Exynos 9820 is compatible with HDR10+ and therefore with HDR10 (i.e. HDR10+ / HDR10 for recording and playback), https://www.samsung.com/semiconducto...-feature-tour/ and the Snapdragon 855 is compatible with all current commercially available HDR formats (i.e. HDR10+ / HDR10 / HLG / Dolby Vision for playback, HDR10+ / HDR10 / HLG for recording) https://www.avsforum.com/forum/465-h...l#post57336612 Samsung apparently reduces the HDR compatibility of the Galaxy S10 to the lowest common denominator: HDR10+ / HDR10. HDR10+ / HDR10 movie >> Internet >> Galaxy S10 > display HDR10+ / HDR10 movie >> Internet >> Galaxy S10 as streaming player >> USB-C to HDMI adapter >> HDR10+ / HDR10 TV Samsung will also release a flexible screen phone, the Galaxy Fold. ![]() ![]() Apparently, the Galaxy Fold is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_fold-9523.php |

Amazing, their phones play Dolby Vision movies but not their 4K BR players.
