that's because our brain is thinking that and you imagine it to be so, but it's not so.I don't see any difference between 1080p and 4K from 2m from a 55 inch, but if I sit almost to the screen I see difference

But keep lying to yourself hehehe

I sit the very same distance from the very same size screen literally every day and the difference between 4K and up-scaled 1080p in that viewing situation is clear as day, every time. Perhaps you're missing some visual acuity and/or critical viewing skills.

Wasn't talking about up-scaling 1080p was talking about BD 1080p, from a up-scaled 1080p I see the difference.

720p to 1080p from 2m i see a difference.

While I do love the extra kick of detail that a proper 4K finish will bring, it's HDR that's been the game changer for me.

The difference between up-scaled 1080p and 4K should be even tougher to distinguish than between non-up-scaled 1080p and 4K, but I still have no difficulty seeing it at that size/distance. Seriously, it's not a subtlety I struggle to see- it's quite evident.

I don't see any difference from 2m on 4K,HDR i see from 2m but not details only when i have my face to screen i see more details on 4K but I don't use it as a monitor.when going from 480p to 1080p i saw the difference from 1080p to HDR major upgrade, but not 4k.

Fair enough and that's fine. Perhaps now, though, you can bear in mind that some other people do see that difference and value it and be a little less dogmatic in your insistence that the format has little or no benefit.

This kind of know-it-all trolling from 4K naysayers is so tiresome.

Ok, so maybe you're one of the 33 and I'm one of the 7. You don't have to like it. You don't have to find value in it. Just please refrain from your absolutist declarations that it can't have value for anyone else. It does.

No, you're not trolling because you don't see any difference. That's fine; I believe you. You're trolling because you're telling other people that because their experience with the format isn't the same as yours, they are brainwashed and can't critically assess what they're looking at. That is arrogant nonsense. You're not listening - you're just hurling your perspective at others in a forum specifically about the subject you're dismissing. That's not discussion - that's trolling.

You don't see a difference. I do. That's fine. If there's anything we should have learned about 4K tech by now, it's YMMV.

Just keep telling yourself that you see what you see. One day, you'll see that you don't see what you see. Then you'll see!

No difference between bluray and 4K UHD at 2 meters?!

I've never blocked someone this fast.

Tired of people like this.

Reminds me of the folks that claimed to see no difference between Blu and DVD.

And where there was a big difference they'd claim so-and-so video company deliberately gimped the DVD to make it look worse and promote BD sales.

Reality is as displays, transfers, compression & authoring improved over time.
The difference between 4K and standard BD will widen over time as people get comfortable with the technology and start pushing the envelope.
