Not sure which did it but the combination of a 4k (or better) source, HDR, and HFR made this truly a game changer.

It's interesting that Soldier takes on a whole new meaning after watching this. When I hear the song on the radio I feel the sense of fear/menace from the scene in the movie.

It did the same to me!
By the way, for those of you with Atmos surround sound, how about that marching band scene just before Beyonce walks up?

i think the bad thing about this movie isn't the 60 fps...

it's that half the movie is someone looking directly in the camera in first person mode.

feels like you're playing call of duty. even without the 60 fps that would be very jarring as that kind of first person stuff with people looking directly at the camera isn't seen too often in hollywood cinema.

I loved all of it except for the story itself. I treat it more as a reference demo to remind me of how directors have only been scratching the surface of the endless possibilities that HFR + 4K HDR can offer in the movie-making process. 24fps looks so primitive in contrast to the improvements in resolution, WCG, and HDR use we are witnessing these days

In order for Hollywood to move forward with 60 FPS movies, they'll need to massively step their game up on effects/sets/costumes/makeup big time. The increased temporal resolution of the almost triple framerate reveals all the corners cut to make the Hollywood magic.

Even the blockbuster budget of the hobbit movie made it look like exactly what it was - a bunch of actors playing dress up on a set.

As weird as it sounds, the 60 fps CGI cut scenes of the Last of Us on playstation 4 didn't look as jarring and bad as the hobbit did.

WOW, you take anything literally, like when I said that 120FPS looks like it was shot on cheap home video, you think I meant that they used a cheap camcorder he he.

And there is my point I was trying to make, but you don't understand it.

A movie should not look real, like the hobbit when you see how real and you see how more fake the CGI look.

When you see that people are acting then the magic is gone.

I watched the Hobbit in 24p...Still looked like actors playing dress up on a movie set, only with far more blurry and juddery picture

See clueless it amazing

I don't look half as bad in 48FPS

But you don't understand, that's ok.

higher the frame rate the more it will see like they are acting, lower frame right hides that more.
