Some kid standing directly in front of me in the Subway this morning coughed on me (I was seated) while his parents stood by chatting. They were speaking a foreign language and were towing bags so, with my luck, they were freshly arrived from a hotspot somewhere. The only way to avoid getting sick from this is to barricade yourself in an underground bunker until the crisis is over and that's not happening so good luck to us all.

I’m sort of hoping that somebody will transmit coronavirus to me right now, just so I could rip off that Band-Aid right away, recover from it, and move on with my life.

This will probably be like chicken pox for the majority of the population. Catch it, suffer for a short while, and be done with it.

I'm more worried about transmitting it to someone else who could be at a higher risk for mortality than I am about getting it myself.

I'm concerned about it mutating. You could be infected with one strain, but still be vulnerable to a different one. I hate to be pessimistic, but I fear it will only get deadlier with every mutation.

This whole thing feels surreal, like we're all in some disaster movie.

Viruses often evolve to be less deadly, so that they have more time in their hosts to be transmitted to other hosts. This is why Ebola is, in Darwin terms, an evolutionarily unfit virus, whereas the common cold is more fit.

What you’re saying is still an unsettling possibility, though.

BBC News reported that the patient died in The Royal Berkshire Hospital. The deceased older patient had underlying health issues.

The number of Coronavirus cases in the UK has also hit three figures for the 1st time today with 116 cases.

There is more disruption for The 6 Nations rugby calendar. England's matches with Italy in Rome have been postponed because of Coronavirus.

People are going to become temporary shut ins as much as possible to avoid getting sick. So they are stockpiling. That is all.
