Eh I'm probably just over-reacting to all the fun stuff here closing, being laid off from work because of the restaurants shutting down and not being allowed to go to NMSU anymore for the rest of the term. Well classes will probably all be online now but my field experience hours for the spring are definitely in big trouble. Who knows what New Mexico will do.

"As Washington gains the capacity to test more people for the virus, more COVID-19 diagnoses are made each day. The state Department of Health announced 189 new cases Thursday, bringing the state total to 1,376 cases, including 74 deaths. The bulk of cases remain in King County, which has seen 693 people fall ill and 60 of them die, according to the county’s public health department."

Maybe you should actually look something up before telling other people to not spread the TRUTH!
![]() Quote:
Apparently all YOU want to do is spread negativity and ignore the breakthroughs. My god, it's like no one even watched the news today. Quote:
I quote: "Of the 20 test patients, six who were treated with both Plaquenil and the antibiotic azithromycin showed impressive results — with five testing negative at day three. All six of them tested negative at day six." LINK to full article: https://nypost.com/2020/03/19/old-ma...navirus-study/ Quote:
Yes, I'd take this stuff in a HEARTBEAT if I came down with the symptoms!!! These people were VIRUS FREE within 6 days maximum! The final testing results may not be 100%, but it's a damn site better than ANY PRIOR NEWS to this date! But you don't want people to know about it? WHY IS THAT EXACTLY???? ![]() Trump announced on the news today this would be sent to hospitals as soon as they can get it there if they don't already have any. The side effects are known. It's not dangerous when used properly and it seems to work EXTREMELY well so far. It's as close to a cure as we're likely to find. It works AFTER you get it unlike a vaccine which only helps if you're not already sick! |

And a quick search on the Fox 5 website brings up nothing when searching for "gargle," "gargling," "salt" or "salt water." I'm gonna still stick to dad misunderstanding and wouldn't blame it on the news. Quote:

It is natural for people to want this whole COVID-19 pandemic to just disappear. Most don't even remember the H1N1 epidemic of April 2009 because the country was right in the middle of The Great Recession. It go lost in the news of the financial crisis, people losing their homes, massive layoffs and companies going bankrupt.
Just a few short weeks ago we were (for the most part) living the American Dream. Unemployment was at a record low, the stock market was at a record high and the housing market had fully recovered. All most people were reading about was the 2020 elections. And then the world did a complete 180. I am sure most don't like being cooped up at home. Or going to the grocery store and seeing nothing but empty shelves. Or being told they can't go to the movies, or their favorite restaurant or even go to the gym and work out. And for many it's been less than a week under these conditions. Can you imagine 30 days from now? I was talking to a friend yesterday who told me; "Lee . . . just have patience." I replied; "Patients? If I wanted patients I would have become a doctor!" Please for your own sakes . . . stop the "when are we getting there?" The trip is 1000 miles and we just passed mile marker 10. |

Well I can't argue with any of that, as I do try to tell people myself - the key is not to overreact yourself and make the situation worse. These are definitely trying times though, especially for people who really can't afford to miss a paycheck or not have their kids in school.

![]() AGAIN: https://nypost.com/2020/03/19/old-ma...navirus-study/ That's the best news I've read since this started and people ignore it sit there with their knees shaking. ![]() I'm on the front line keeping basic services going including packaging sorting machines that deliver goods from all over the world and the computer networks that help control them and I'm not even close to worried as you people. You see I understand our basic services must continue or we WILL die. Besides, worrying never helped anyone. In fact, fear can get you killed in many situations (it doesn't help your immune system either). I've got a job to do in the morning each day and I intend to do it. I'm exempt from travel restrictions because someone has to keep this country's infrastructure running. There are a lot of others still going to work exempts as well. Imagine if you had no power or groceries being delivered. You couldn't get on the Internet to post here. You'd all be shaking knees in the dark with the lights out while the looting starts! You don't know what a real crisis is. Ask the surviving firefighters in New York from 9-11 if they're terrified by this. They faced REAL terror and did their jobs bravely anyway, fear or not and we do people like that a real disservice acting like scared little children. Think of the doctors and nurses in the hospitals treating this! They're in far more danger than I am so I think I can do my part to keep the supply lines going. My dad served in both Vietnam (2 tours) and The Gulf War (1 tour). That took far more bravery than just going to work and doing my job so it's the least I can do. Besides, no one lives forever. The brave people soldier on. I guess the rest sit in the dark wrapped in toilet paper or something based on the way people are buying when it has NOTHING to do with this disease.... Quote:
What, by shining HOPE (and maybe a bit of humor here and there so it's not all doom and gloom) on a bunch of negative nellies that sit moaning and quaking in their boots? My god, what would you people have done if this was World War II? I think we'd all be speaking German today.... |
