French study finds anti-malarial and antibiotic combo could reduce COVID-19 duration

https://techcrunch.com/2020/03/19/fr...d-19-duration/

Read that headline very carefully.

Means it could reduce how long you have it. Doesn't mean it will, also doesn't mean it will make it go away.

This will eventually will pass. Tons of people will get it, and some will sadly pass. Most will be okay. As mentioned above: The sun will rise tomorrow. As more and more people practice social distancing, things will get better overall.

This damn virus is messing up my frozen pizza game in a big way.

My go to FP is a DiGiorno’s Stacked pepperoni with shiitake mushrooms and garlic-stuffed green olives. But ain’t no way I’m buying produce these days that god knows how many strangers haves touched with their hands. So last night I made it with the olives, but without the mushrooms.

It wasn’t the same.

...wasn’t the same at all.

I may have to go two months without getting a proper frozen pizza fix.

F@ck you coronavirus.

...you’re worse than white dog poop.

Not sure you have a grasp on what's important here. It's not the ratio of those that get it versus those that die. It's the ratio of those that get it versus those that have to be hospitalized.

I understand. That is why social distancing is important. It helps the system (medical response, hospitals, etc) to not get overwhelmed. As someone who is immune compromised, I understand the situation as I am watching it very careful. I am part of the AT RISK demographic in population.

I had a double lung transplant. Sounds like both of us won't be leaving home for some time.

Sky news was allowed inside an Italian hospital. A lot of discretion adviced before viewing this. Though any idiot that's still going out drinking or in large crowds. Show them this all day long without warning.

Italy also isn't locking down like they should. In Milan people were still using public transport and having parties in hotels.

But if transmission has resulted from this flouting of the lockdown. Then that's not presented yet. Italy is still dealing with the backlog of transmission prior to the lockdown.

Still a couple more days to see if the lockdown is having an effect.

At least in my state it seems like they're doing a good job locking things down. We've only had a few cases before they started to shut and close a lot of things down to limit the spread. My company and many others in the area started to have all employees work from home a week ago.
