I'm not into conspiracies but the bottom line is, there's allegedly no cure for this. Some individuals are shown to be asymptomatic but could pass it on yet China has stemmed this virus completely?! Nah, that's way too convenient imo and doesn't match with what's happening globally because of Coronavirus.

Tbh, i don't go out that much but i like to here and there. Not being able to go out for a movie, a meal or socialising with friends IRL has been easily replaced with online gaming, movies at home and occasionally messaging on apps.

I think it's because i'm not the type to be out every day or weekend like clockwork that i'm more accustomed to the change but god help those who don't have a stockpile of games and movies
There's still new cases being reported in China. 78 today for instance. There are many provinces that haven't reported new cases for a while however. Most of the new cases are also people traveling back there after staying elsewhere.

Taiwan didn't even close schools, let's hope North American countries take some lessons in how to be ready for pandemics that we should have learned from SARS.

Both Taiwan and Canada reported their first presumptive cases of COVID-19 within days of each other, but their experience of life with the pandemic has been quite different. Children in Taiwan are still in school, restaurants are open and there’s no shortage of protective supplies

The concert cancellations and running race cancellations are bumming me out, because these things give me something to look forward to on any given month. My introvert self gets to enjoy a cohesive community time with like-minded people at such events, and it's rough to have them removed from my schedule.
You can still order takeout and pick up food at places. You can get a few smiles and human to human interaction if you're in dire need.

Sure, but I'm so introverted I've practically turned inside out . I just don't like being around people, at least not in a closer social setting. Stick me in a football stadium with 26,000 people every week and I'm loving it, stick me in a room with one person that I don't know and I'd be clawing at the walls trying to get out.

Curbside pickup at Wegman's was super easy. Didn't have to get out of my vehicle and he didn't touch it. Disinfected everything once home.

Thought this was interesting about the importance of cardio exercise in fighting viruses. Maybe this will start a running boom, although there won't be any races probably until next year.

What is known about SARS-CoV-2 (which is more accurate really), is that if you maintain a healthy immune system...you'll beat it in days. Even starting a regular exercise routine NOW, expanding your lungs and moving more oxygen and nitrogen in and throughout your body...will do better than most medical stop-gap cures. The virus specifically attacks your lungs.

SARS-CoV-2 is actually harmless if it stays in the nose and throat...just like the flu. The issue is when it gets to the lungs via unhealthy and low immune system pathways where there is no resistance. Having healthy lungs pushes the virus back and once the days pass, the virus dies as it can't replicate efficiently to survive.
Olympics postponed until next year. I wonder is professional sports will even take place before the fall and even then.

Having the subway be the most common form of transportation doesn't help either.

I have actually hit my modest running weekly goals now that I embrace the time I get to run around, instead of feeling burnt out on it like I was before this. Though I doubt it will lead to a boom in running, not where I am, rarely encountered people before this and even less so now. Though I tend to stay away from parks while running anyway so I don't get bored.

That's true, but i mean in terms of new domestic cases, there's literally almost zero. Just the cases from those travelling home from around the world with it.

To me, i know what Geoff D said is about locking down an entire city in isolation etc. but i honestly don't believe that somehow means the virus has died off. There's still so much out there they don't know but China has almost single handedly got rid of this thing without a cure. That doesn't seem accurate at all. Something is 100% fishy with all that imo. Yes, Wuhan got locked down, but how many people before that were roaming around China freely before it came into force? Enough to spread Coronavirus around the country and exampled just like other places around the world where we've seen it disperse even with control measures and i don't care how good China is at this from a dictatorship PoV, with asymptomatic individuals able to pass it on and likely missed during the early stages, i feel like something isn't right there.

Somebody let something out of a lab imo and it's not tin foil hat at all to say countries hush hush test this sort of viral warfare behind closed doors all the time. This is having devastating economic impact and it seems a tad deliberate and opportune. *tin foil hat firmly on*

Here I see more people out exercising (mostly walking) than normal. Could be just trying to get out the house and being couped up means less exercise than the normal routine of going to work.

I mean, the virus definitely isn't dead there, but it can be contained, and they did everything possible to ensure that. Now that they're opening things up again however, that makes 99.9% of their population that hasn't been infected vulnerable to it, mainly from imported cases. If these people are in the wild, and there's a dense crowd, then it'll just start spreading again like crazy, and they'll have to shut everything down again.

The whole theory that it came from a lab is complete nonsense that's been repeatedly debunked. Scientists can analyze the virus on a microscopic level, and there would be plenty of tell--tale signs that it was man-made. There isn't anything opportune about this. It's hurting China just as much as anywhere else.

There is no cure for SARS either and how much of an issue was that after a few months? With a proper lockdown and citizens obeying it then it loses a path to spread. If countries were not more concerned with the economy than citizens and took quicker more drastic actions then this wouldn't have been anywhere near the issue it is now. The Chinese whether through respect or fear listen to their government and are also not out partying on beaches. Just look at pictures of Wuhan during the lockdown and how empty it has been compared to these stay at home orders where there are still people filling the streets. So it is very easy to see how the spread can be contained with drastic actions. The initial response was poor but once they got to doing the right things they handled it well. Better than what is happening in the US between still being more focused on economy and people refusing to isolate. Italy and Iran made it a much larger issue too since a lot of the cases in Europe, North America and the Middle East were linked to those. At least Italy is shutdown too now but Iran will continue to do absolutely nothing so we need their neighboring countries to stay strong on enforcing the closed borders.

Canada has still been pretty lucky but allowing the snowbirds back and trusting them to do the right thing is a mistake when a lot of our cases are already because of US travel so the only way they should have been allowed back is if they were put into quarantine somewhere just like the people brought off the cruise ships. As evidence by the woman that died hours after getting back into Canada and was allowed to fly. How does that even happen?

NY Governor Cuomo just gave a scathing news conference, which included speaking out against sacrificing lives for the sake of the economy. He said he understands getting people back to work, but he disagrees that the elderly & weakened are expendable. It's quite obvious that POTUS, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick & many others strongly disagree.
