Lee, I see nothing in your two above posts...and mostly a duplicate.

Edit: Now the pictures showed up.

To prepare for a future time when we might need them. You don't just do everything last minute you know, you plan ahead. Cuomo wants 30,000 ventilators, not because he needs them now, or even a week from now, but you have to plan ahead. New York state has some 53,000 hospital beds (and they are adding more). Right now hospitalizations due to coronavirus for the state are around 4,000. He's projecting we may need 140,000 beds. It's better to be over-prepared, than under.

James Dyson designed a new ventilator in 10 days. He's making 15,000 for the pandemic fight

Quote:
London (CNN Business) Dyson has received an order from the UK government for 10,000 ventilators to support efforts by the country's National Health Service to treat coronavirus patients.

James Dyson, the company's billionaire founder, confirmed the order in a letter to employees shared with CNN on Wednesday.

"A ventilator supports a patient who is no longer able to maintain their own airways, but sadly there is currently a significant shortage, both in the UK and other countries around the world," Dyson wrote.

Dyson said the company had designed and built an entirely new ventilator, called the "CoVent," since he received a call 10 days ago from UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.

"This new device can be manufactured quickly, efficiently and at volume," Dyson added, saying that the new ventilator has been designed to "address the specific needs" of coronavirus patients.

How Amazon is prioritizing orders right now

Quote:
If you've tried to order anything from Amazon over the past week, you've likely run into delayed shipping and delivery timelines. That's understandable, with the sudden surge in online shopping in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many states and municipalities are asking people to limit interactions via social distancing and shelter-in-place orders to prevent the spread of the virus. Grocery stores and other essential services are still open, but many people are turning to online retailers like Amazon to fulfill their shopping needs.

To handle this upswing in orders, Amazon is taking steps to ensure that they don't run out of essential products. In a statement on its Seller Central website, Amazon says it's "temporarily prioritizing household staples, medical supplies and other high-demand products coming into our fulfillment centers so that we can more quickly receive, restock, and ship these products to customers. For products other than these, we have temporarily disabled shipment creation. We are taking a similar approach with retail vendors."

This policy will be in effect through at least April 5. Amazon is prioritizing the shipments of products in these categories:

Coronavirus could kill 81,000 in U.S., subside in June -Washington University analysis

Quote:
The coronavirus pandemic could kill more than 81,000 people in the United States in the next four months and may not subside until June, according to a data analysis done by University of Washington School of Medicine.

The number of hospitalized patients is expected to peak nationally by the second week of April, though the peak may come later in some states. Some people could continue to die of the virus as late as July, although deaths should be below epidemic levels of 10 per day by June at the latest, according to the analysis.

Who here in his/her lifetime thought that we would all be going through a pandemic like this Coronavirus one? ... No matter who's the youngest and who's the oldest.
It don't matter how old we are it is changing all our lives including the departed ones, forever.

I hope it won't be as bad as the Spanish Flu of just over hundred years ago.

Easter, forget Easter I'm not going anywhere out working in an office building full of people, or searching for eggs with a bunch of kids @ the park or in someone's backyard. I'm staying home with the doors locked.

The economy can wait a little till this virus is safe.
It's no ordinary virus, it's a very bad nasty one.

This virus is worse than the Spanish flu. That said, for numerous reasons, it won't be as deadly.

That data analysis that's only one among thousands more.

My own analysis, not US region, but global...over a million dead by May 1st.
And I hope my analysis is completely wrong. I hope my numbers don't add up.
I much prefer counting and predicting money than dead people.

Speaking of money, brace for the stock markets to crash.
That stimulus thing is vaporware compared to reality.
The stock markets have no good reason to go up (it would take a whole lots of multiple stimulus ... and even that), but they have all the best fundamental reasons to go down, way down deep ...

Ok, I'll play.

My completely unsubstantiated guess is that by May 1, we'll have 100k deaths.

Closest without going over wins!

I've read that too...that it is worse.
And I hope you're right about the number of casualties total globally, sincerely.
