After Three Coronavirus Stimulus Packages, Congress Already Prepping No. 4

Quote:
As lawmakers last week completed a record-shattering economic-rescue package estimated at $2 trillion, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) predicted: “This is certainly not the end of our work here in Congress—rather the end of the beginning.”

Legislators from both parties, administration officials, economists, think tanks and lobbyists are already roughing out the contours of yet another emergency-spending package—perhaps larger than the last—to try to keep the coronavirus crisis from turning into a 21st-century Great Depression. Many expect the debate to begin in earnest by late April.

Getting a sore throat and sore throats usually hit me really hard. Not running any kind of fever or other symptoms atm.

Really hope this is nothing serious so its not passed on to my mom..
Trying my best to not overreact and jump right to conclusion that I have it but easier said than done. *Sigh*

124,700 cases in America now, which is about 0.04% of the American population.

That's only confirmed cases. Not the atchual figure. Which could be 10 to 15 times the number of confirmed.

Most of the confirmed cases have come about because a person has had to seek medical attention.

not only that but is also still flu season and now/soon spring pollen season.

still better safe than sorry. if there are issues people should take care of themselves and not brush things off.

Watch the news. People are dying of COVID-19 at an exponential rate. We all are completely justified to be worried about this.

Agreed. I'm American, and have been to Paris & London & ridden the subways there (no car when I was vacation there, so took the subways everywhere). I found the hygiene of the people there fine.

Conversely, I've ridden the train/subway on a regular basis in the U.S. - in numerous cities. In fact, back before I started working from home due to the virus - I would take the train to work almost every day.

And, I can honestly say that Americans are a lot filthier & stink much worse than anyone in Europe. People in this country are %$#%@# filthy. I've had to sit near people on the train here that smelled of pi$$ & other stenches - and it wasn't just homeless people. I've also seen women change their baby's shi$$y diaper on the train - in front of other people (this turned my stomach, so I had to go to another car). No wonder the virus is spreading so fast over here - this country has some of the most unhygienic & filthiest people on the planet.

You should work on tourism boards for America with these kind of PR skills.

I suppose the weather changing from cold to slightly warmer means more folk getting colds and sore throats. Try not to worry.

Ugh, it sucks. Hopefully you won't have to deal with one while this is all going on. It's even more stressful when you have a history of horrible sore throats and having to wonder if thats all it is or more during this time.

Right now its been very windy, cold and dusty here in this part of Texas. So I'm hoping its just a mixture of those things.

@Steedeel: Yeah I'm hoping that's all it is.

Man, I really have no idea what to think anymore. America's federal response has been nothing but reactive. The testing was a mess from the start, so the window of opportunity to effectively track and isolate the infected has long since passed. The message from leadership has been anything but consistent. Social distancing measures (or lack thereof) are being enforced at state levels, often catering more to serve certain political agendas. I personally know too many people who honestly, genuinely believe this isn't real, is being greatly exaggerated by the 24-hour news cycle or is ignorant to how it is clearly crippling our health facilities.
