Sweetie, I'm doing my part. I'm staying home. But half of America isn't. And it's making the other half annoyed because the longer they don't take things seriously, the longer we have to wait for stores to open back up. Believe it or not, some of us enjoy buying in-store. Online shopping isn't the same.

Yeah, I don't get it. Perfectly healthy 22-year-olds who are health nuts are getting hospitalized I'm 46 and have high blood pressure and have continued going to work in NYC throughout the crisis and I feel fine. Well, except for the usual aches and pains. A 49-year-old cop who also had HBP died recently and that has me a bit concerned but what can you do? I guess I'm wired to survive (hopefully).

BTW, I've heard lots of conspiracy theories, from the amusing to the downright scary but I've chosen to not buy into any of them even though I think there's something very fishy about all this.

Bath & Body Works raised prices on all of their items this year by $1. Their hand soaps go for $7.50-$8.50 each now, body wash goes for $14.50, etc.

Restaurants are most likely getting more takeout orders than ever before and they only have to keep 2-3 people staffed.

Some industries are benefitting from this. Let's blame them.

Grandparents typically aren't considered ancestors, but I'd agree that that generation was much more hardened and resilient and they would have fought this virus head on.

You mean that generation that was openly racist and was able to buy a house for $5,000 working a low paying job, and blaming millennials and gen Z for everything?

Pandemics are a constant throughout human history, we just hadn't had a major one since 1918. That's not fishy, we just got a lucky break for almost a century.

That death rate is going to sharply increase when NY hospital run out of ventilators - end of next week

Actually it's more than a century. The Spanish Flu ran from 1918 to 1919. Here we are 101 years later.

It is an animal virus that has spread to humans so it's not like the average human to human virus's our immune systems are somewhat used to. Everyone's body is going to react differently to it which is why it is doing what it is doing to so many different types of people. The virus itself isn't killing people, their own immune systems reactions to the virus are killing them.

Oops - wrong article

New York City will need hundreds more ventilators in a few days and more masks, gowns and other supplies by April 5, Mayor Bill de Blasio said to CNN.
