"I'm a computer scientist and I've spend decades analysing data, but you should talk to a real epidemiologist if you want to understand the underlying causes. Computer scientists do know a lot about exponential growth though." - Mark Handley, UCL.

Feels like a normal day. Traffic on the road seems about the same.
I went to the doctor today. When I walked in the room he said “Say Ahhhhhhhhh”.
“why, do I sound like I have a sore throat” I asked.
“No, my dog died yesterday” he replied.

If you watch the news you'll see that this is very serious & no laughing matter - and, yes, people are dying. But, if you want to laugh while people are dying go ahead. Whatever floats your boat

More Americans have already died of coronavirus as of today than died in the 9/11 attacks, and many more will die in weeks to come.

It's a pretty grim day for the country.

Very sad, but not surprising. A month ago, I remember someone on another board saying COVID-19 wasn't nearly as bad as 9/11, which I knew was completely false even then.

Interesting experience. Amazon finally had 12-pack toilet paper in stock. So I added it in my cart and then when I was in the process of checking out, I got an error saying it was sold out. What the hell??

Obviously not. They were one of many ignorant nimrods out there. No wonder the virus is spreading so fast here in the U.S. - it's because of idiots like them.

Spain just overtook China for infected, Germany, France, Iran, UK all likely to surpass China in the next couple days as well.

That said, don't go by infection count, go by deaths (or hospitalized if they have the stats).

Alberta (and I suspect China did the same) is no longer testing unless you end up hospitalized....so the numbers of infected won't increase as much in the coming days, but it's a false stat - the ultimate number to go by is the death count.

From everything I found online...here's how the progression in Europe happened...

First recorded infection in Italy was believed to have been from a Chinese worker in an auto plant.

As the virus spread for a few weeks unknown to anyone, Spanish fans flocked to Italy for a Spain vs Italy football (soccer) match, got infected went back home to Spain after the game.

In Germany, it was their version of spring break and thousands went to Italy to ski, got infected, went back home and spread it in Germany.

Madness.

Items tend to go quick once they come back in stock on Amazon.
