Went shopping at WM over the weekend. Now there are pylons connected by yellow tape with WM employees by the door. They are restricted to a certain number of people in the store at a time. You line up behind the tape and wait your turn. Someone comes out, someone goes in. All food aisles are clearly marked one way only. THAT is not being followed.

OK - so you shouldn't be concerned about going into an essential products store and not being able to buy non-essential products.

Well I try to go one-way only on the food aisles but I also want to go the way that minimizes my contact with other human beings.

Anyone ever been to a Wegmans? The greatest food stores bar none. They also sell patio furniture and other non-essential items.

Not remotely. I leave the apartment about once a week and get everything else delivered.

Well anyway most of these non-essential stores will be considered low risk, and hopefully will reopen sooner rather than later (not before the shelter in place is lifted because it wouldn't make sense otherwise.

You can go to Walmart or Target's online ordering and order whatever you want. It will tell you if they offer curbside pickup on the items you chose or delivery in X number of days. Same with Best Buy. Amazon isn't the only game in town when it comes to online sales.

It is if you pay for prime.

Right - as long as they follow social distancing requirements as set by their governor.

Some changes coming: clear plexiglass partitions on all booths in restaurants. The same for all cashiers in retail stores. The take your temperature thingee to gain admittance.

That was a decision you and others have made. You weren't forced to, you elected to. So . . . you getting next day or 2 day shipments now?

Not so easy.

I tired that last night. Stuff I know for a fact is in my local Wal-MArt in the health section is not on their site in the quantities or dosages I need. I spent 3 hours last night looking up common stuff I buy at Wal-Mart, because it lists stuff I previously-bought in-store so I can re-order it easily online. Except many of the things I wanted was either not available online (allergy pills which are 88 cents per pack in-store was not available - instead the cheapest option available for order was $10), or things I usually buy single were only available in packs of 3 or in larger quantities, making me spend more money. Some stuff just wasn't available at all.

So ultimately I had to go to Wa-Mart today to get much-needed supplies. They had everything I went there for, including bathroom tissue, which was not available online at all last night. I would have loved just ordering it all, but it didn't work out that way. Also, with what I did put in my online cart, I qualified for free shipping, but that means only one delivery option - free, which split it up in two orders - some of the health stuff would arrive next week, and some would arrive on the 29th! No option to spend more for faster shipping since I needed some of that stuff sooner.

So their websites don't always work so great for everyone depending on what you need.

Allergy pills fall under the heading of medication which has been deemed essential items so you could buy them as a walk in. That seems to be the only item other an TP that you specifically point out. TP at Walmart seems to be "reserved" for walk in traffic not online orders. At least that is what I am seeing and hearing.

Or I could just walk into Target to buy my essentials & while im there pick up some other things (like movies & games) to help keep me entertained through all this. Its faster then ordering online & im already there. Yes, im against being told what I can buy in a store that sells various types of things. People should be able to buy what they want while in the store. Its not our fault other stores don't sell essential items & shoppers shouldn't be punished for it.

OK - hope you are comfortable with a whole bunch of small business' going bankrupt in the next 45 days. Hope that doesn't inconvenience you too much.

One of my Amazon items that I ordered three weeks ago got lost in the mail by their own shipping service (how retarded!), so they placed a new order with a two-day shipping upgrade for no charge. The replacement order was done on Monday. It's now Thursday and has not shipped yet. Some "two day" shipping speed! Amazon has been nothing short of disgraceful with their service lately. I understand there is a pandemic going on, so I'm ok with a little delay, but it's a little extreme and beyond ridiculous!

So how is their streaming service? That's the other benefit to having Prime right.

Applebees, Longhorn, and probably most other chain restaurants have limited their takeout menus. Some of the best things aren't even available anymore. What's the point then? Nobody wants burgers from Applebees or Longhorn.

Saw a sign outside of Texas Roadhouse on the way to Walmart: All steaks (raw) 50% off. Curbside pickup.
