Poor baby. The people who are protesting against a protection remind me of immature, spoiled rotten teenagers who want to do everything they can to rebel against adults - people who know better than they do.

Get over it. Stop being so selfish.

These protests are only going to lead to more people getting sick and, potentially, dying. No one's "freedoms" are at stake here. It's not permanent. It's been a month. These people need to grow the Hell up.

Has nothing to do with being selfish. You can have certain protections, restrictions & guidelines in place without going too far. The mandatory masks (& gloves in some places), social distancing in some places, measures like that are fine & I follow. Start telling me where I can & can’t shop, what I can & can’t buy, where I can & can’t go that I have a problem with.

As someone who's worked in both retail/supermarkets and in food service fast and restaurants, the difference is huge in the food thats inside. Wal-Mart and Kroger and pathmark keep things on shelves that are bad or going bad.
Restaurants don't order so much that it goes bad.

I would rather pick my own produce and dairy than let some random employee who doesn't know what to look for.

Exactly. I also compare prices on things like meat. I don’t just grab the first (usually more expensive) pack of meat I see. My wife is also very particular on her fruits & vegetables, she’s picky & looks through them until she finds one she thinks is acceptable.

This all sounds very reasonable and worth putting essential grocery store workers at greater risk of infection.

I have friends working during this in supermarkets, fire departments, doctors, police department, doormen, court officers, building maintenance, etc

Please tell me how you not being able to shop at a certain time for your OWN safety or that you can't go surfing some waves is really hurting you in the long term future??? Some of my friends are putting their lives at risk for these very people protesting right now. I have friends who are sleeping in their garages as their kids are crying because they don't understand that it's not safe currently given where their parents work.

My friend in the NYPD has to be outside exposing himself simply because people don't understand how social distancing works and want to gather in groups because they are tired of being stuck at home. All my medical field friends working three shifts in a row because they are trying to save all of us. My doorman who now has to run up peoples amazon packages when he was originally hired simply to be opening doors only but now people are asking can he run up their packages

It's easy to talk about your freedoms from the comfort of your own home but I mean jesus think about the people who are actually putting their lives and families at risk out there right now. I can go without shopping for a pair of sneakers or a blu ray, etc because I know me staying inside is gonna buy some time for the people trying to get things in order for us to have the very freedom you want back.

Unfortunately, the people protesting these TEMPORARY restrictions are only thinking of themselves and using some self-righteous BS to try and defend their indefensible position.

Again, let them get sick. I'm all for it. Let their loved ones get sick. Perhaps extreme reactions are what it will take for people to get it through their heads that it's for the greater good and not an attack on anyone's theoretical civil rights.

People's rights are going to be infringed upon. As mean as it sounds, too bad. There's a deadly virus that's spreading like wildfire across the globe. If that means people can't go inside restaurants and stores for awhile, so be it. People's lives are more important than people's rights to go inside a building.

Honestly I don't know how some people can get off being so brazen and entitled. I picked up a movie from Best Buy curbside today and I spoke to the masked employee through my slightly-opened window without my mask on -- because this is new to me and I wasn't thinking -- and I feel bad about it. Imagine getting riled because your wife might not get to pick through the veggies. Holy hell.

Yep. Just picked up dinner from two different restaurants. Hot Chicago beef sammich for me. Loves me the giardiniera peppers. Pasta for those others in the house.

There are also people whose loved ones are dying alone with no one around them but strangers. Granted, the nurses and doctors in those hospitals are doing incredible work and deserve every ounce of gratitude we can give them. But they're dying over skype.

Other people are giving birth without their spouse with them...some being separated from their children after they're born because the mom has the virus (or, worse, gets it in the hospital).

But...ya know....fruit.

I still see large groups of people outside participating in activities. Keep hoping every single one of those jerks get arrested, well not the kids obviously. People require dramatic examples to learn things.

And to people who want that, I always say: You first. You, your family and your friends. And let the chips fall where they may.

Hey...I mean, it's no biggie, right? So then let the people who are concerned about it stay home and let the rest of the people go back to work and we'll see how it works out.

Nope, but I won't go near old people and I'll wear a mask and practice social distancing. Will you pay for the funerals of all the people who commit suicide due to being out of work and feel all hope is lost? Will you pay for the hospital bills of women and kids that are being abused due to a spike in domestic issues?

None of that equates.

I don't know where you live but, when it comes to the latter, here in the city they are constantly promoting alternatives for women who are in abusive relationships during this time. I know because I get the texts.

And if someone kills themselves over this, they weren't mentally stable to begin with.

It all equates, these are ramifications that will endure long after this virus has run its course.

You lose everything you have and how mentally stable would you be?
