We know that it can mutate from person to person, so I’ll believe we have a cure or a vaccine when it actually happens

Pretty weaksauce if our undoing is a lil virus and not how we’ve destroyed the planet.

Not really, a deadly contagious virulent strain with no vaccine coupled with deep human stupidity is actually perfect for wiping out large numbers of humans.

It's supposed to mutate much slower than the flu, so there is hope for humankind.

Global warming has been going on for decades and is continuing to get worse, it will get us eventually without a fundamental shift in resource and energy management.

Georgia went against the federal recommendations of having a proper plan in place. Saw that one coming.

Although I may have already had it twice. I’ll know tomorrow. Did a drive-in test earlier today.

Classic example of fake news (or no news). Georgia has had hundreds of daily cases before reopening. As much as some people and media are eager to report that they made a mistake, there is no data yet to support an increase in cases and besides, it takes a couple of weeks for people to show symptoms after contracting the virus and thus be tested.

I see bruceames reply but I still think Georgia re-opened too soon.

I want to get tested too, just to see what it's like and what the results would say.

I agree they opened some businesses too soon, at least in regard to movie theaters and tattoo parlors. However, other low risk businesses I have no problem at all with them reopening.

no, its just that you have tunnel vision and refuse to think outside of what you think to be true.

could the virus have come from the wet market, yes.

could the virus could have come from the lab AND not been man made. how do you not understand that? they could have been studying the virus, which came from a bat naturally, and an accident happened releasing the natural virus.

how is that contradictory?

We cant seem to use logic and common sense during this pandemic, and this media is really something else right now. I honestly believe a good lot of them are cheering for bad news right now.

There are people that firmly believe the world is flat. No matter what evidence you provide such people, they will have counter-arguments or evidence that they think disproves it. I remind myself of that every day.

Bad news sells, good news tends to get ignored. Just human nature.

What low risk businesses did they open? All the ones I saw listed seemed pretty high risk none essential businesses where both social distancing and protective ppe will be impossible to ensure.

I don't know. I'm didn't read exactly what businesses were allowed to reopen. There are many though which can be classified as low risk. Clothing stores for example, or just about any store where social distancing is possible.

Given that theaters, hair salons and tattoo parlors were allowed to reopen, I just assumed that low risk businesses were allowed to reopen as well. Otherwise it wouldn't make no sense at all to keep a clothing or hobby shop closed while tattoo parlors can be open. Did I assume wrong?

Heck if I know. I tried keeping up with the goings on of Georgia reopening, but I've quickly lost track of it all. Was curious about it from a research/analysis perspective.
