To actually think someone handed him this data and he talked about it without being counseled on it is absurd.
He misrepresents data every day. Every day he states a certain amount of "new cases" when he's specifically referring to new hospitalizations. No one has corrected him on this. In the beginning, he'd say X number of people were currently hospitalized right now in NYC, when it was actually the cumulative amount of people hospitalized to date. So yes, there is a lot of precedent for him misrepresenting data. I don't imagine he's doing this intentionally, but he does it

Independent of Cuomo, just use logic. Look at the chart. Tell me what answer Essential Workers are choosing there. The only one there they could write aside from home is "other.. It's clearly a chart showing where admissions have been dwelling, and essential workers are dwelling in homes.

Some people will post and then never respond to any of them and some of them will actively respond back and forth for a while. But to me, the whole concept of a 'personal wall feed' seems a bit egotistical. I'd kind of rather there be topic-centric message boards than just seeing names and starting conversations on someone's personal "site." As someone else mentioned, people kind of become characters from all the branding and upkeep. And it's tough to stomach all the extremist opinions people have and seeing an army of people like/praise all of the posts while questioning anyone else's patriotism or other values if you don't agree.

The overwhelming majority of people I know only use it to post or talk to people already a part of their established clique. I'd imagine very few talk to people outside of their network or forums that are run through FB. And a lot of married guys are probably afraid to post much since it may trigger their wives. I know a lot of guys who ended up going from having a personal account to a joint account with the wife because she didn't like him liking or respond to other women's posts. And my spouse always pressures me to like her posts or make my main picture a photo of us. It's pretty annoying and I prefer to use forums like these or just use the private messaging option on FB.

I haven't posted to my FB wall in over a year and in fact hid my entire posting history and photos from everyone. But I still do read some of my friends posts (mainly family and people I knew in my HS days) and will "like" posts on occasion too. But I never feel expected to contribute and really couldn't care less if they unfriend me for not posting. 90% of my time is in groups and that's where I post.

He said the information shows that those who are hospitalized are predominantly from the downstate area in or around New York City, are not working or traveling and are not essential employees.

Ive been off work since April 1. I extended my FMLA another 2 weeks. Still going to be risky when i do go back in a week espcecially since my leukemia is progressing rapidly.

Seeing posts like this is one of the reasons I get annoyed when people just do whatever and go where ever since they dont think "they" are sick or will get sick. Hope you stay safe and make an awesome recovery.

That...is not a healthy relationship.

That's probably the best way if you have to maintain groups, though may I suggest getting an extension to filter out the news feed entirely?

People love standing around one another at work (only co workers since i work at a Fed Ex facility) and cough without covering their mouth. A co worker lost her temper, which i don't blame heer,

I'm sorry to hear that. Would something like a stem cell transplant potentially help your type of Leukemia?

Im not sure. My dad actually is working with people who deal with stem cells.

My oncologist suggested 3 treatment options a few weeks ago at my appoinment and sent me some info about a potentinal research study if i chose to do it or not.

Well, my "opinion" is wear a mask, stay at home as much as possible, and social distance and if everyone does that, that curve will flatten within weeks. But EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE here shot me down. I don't think a single person here backed me up on that. So I guess that means I'm "factually" wrong.

ive actually yet to see anyone say they are not doing exactly what you mentioned above.

that is where the problem lies, your interpretation of others remarks.

Haven't been following the thread as intently since it's so many pages, but was that against consensus here or among your social group? Maybe I missed the context since I don't recall the other posts. I'd love to see people wear masks, stay at home when possible, and social distance when out in public. In this area it's hard to get people to even take one of those measures seriously. At best people might try to not get up in your face, but it's been hard to get people under age 50 or so to consider masks in public. Plenty of seniors also seem to have no desire to stay home or wear a mask. And way too many folks are reacting in a way like wearing masks is some kind of precedent for "the government to take away our rights and freedom." There is even talk on local Facebook posts where people are praising the rebel pastors who hold church service or salons that are re-opening against orders.

My point is EVERYONE needs to do it. As Cuomo said, 99% of people are doing it, but we need 100% to do it for maximum effectiveness. And that was the point of my posts.

Well they're wearing PPE on a rather large basis and probably social distancing a lot more than most normal citizens so not really surprising.

LOL 99% of people social distancing, I'd be surprised if 30% of people are social distancing. Most people just don't care.

well then id say your expectations are not based in reality.

no matter the topic, 100% of the population will never conform to it, no matter the issue at hand.

To me, part of social distancing should include not just doing whatever you want. I know a LOT of people disagree but there needs to be a major crackdown on people leaving the house for anything that's not essential. So if it's not work, essential groceries, school or exercise (and I wish we could figure out some way to cut down on people going for more than 3-4 long walks a week), ESPECIALLY if you're high risk, you just need to stay home for the time being. I get it, nobody likes sitting in their house all day watching the paint sparkle on the wall but it's better than spreading coronavirus or getting it yourself and spreading it to all the people you interact with.
