I think they should either make everyone wear masks or no one at all. It's not going to work if only some people wear them.

The N95 masks I use at work have the vents on the side. So the small amount of air that escapes will go sideways and probably have little remaining droplets, since the air from my breath basically ricochets off the filtered part of the mask first, absorbing the larger droplets. So yeah I think they're safer than cloth masks. Most of the exhaled air still goes through the filter. The vents are really small and they just make it easy enough to breath so your glasses don't fog up.

Cuomo is re-opening NY beaches for Memorial Day weekends? This is going to be a disaster of biblical proportions.

Labor or Memorial? Big difference between the two.

This post is directly refuting that. So which is it?

I highly doubt it . . . that it is only in Italy and in the USA.
There is also China, Russia, UK, France, Brazil, Spain, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Canada, Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Africa, Ireland, Germany, Saudi Arabia, etc., etc., etc.
It can be equally said that the official numbers are higher than they should be since a ton of deaths are likely either covid aided but not directly covid, or possibly covid but didn't bother confirming so the double number is BS in itself. Probably higher but not that much higher.

Equally in Montreal being the 7th worst area. Is it really? For me, it's a clear case of the blatant disregard for decades the government had for public and private long term health care facilities. Since I live next to Montreal and go into it every weekend for groceries, I can say that people in general respect the guidelines fairly well. Unsanitary facilities which I had been to several as my grandmother several years ago was in deteriorating health and constantly moved from one ****hole to the next caused it to be a hotspot of sorts. I can only hope that once this pandemic winds down that it isn't more empty government promises to have far stricter guidelines at these facilities.

I mean, it's the same thing every year but tbh, it feels like global events have taken a huge dump on the entire year for what people would have liked to have accomplished in some ways, but also given people an opportunity to do other things as well.

So whilst i'm unhappy i can't go to the cinema, shopping to malls or meet with friends to hang out, i guess i'm not 100% restricted and have to put my hands up and say there's probably a dozen things i've been putting off and others that we could try during lockdown but either through laziness and so on possibly won't do.

I'm gonna try a few things hopefully. Get myself a small routing and maybe after it will snowball. My biggest issue is the mental side of things. It's harder to clear your mind when what you used to use for that recharge is taken away and you don't exactly find a great replacement.

Cuomo is opening state beaches. NYC beaches aren't planned to open. People will still go though.

Grandma's Marathon, Ruidoso Marathon, the rest of my spring classes, in particular the rest of my field rotation. I miss work but I know that'll end within 5 minutes of clocking in.

Wow, just wow! The fact that they had to police Central Park over the weekend because THAT many people refuse to abide by stay at home orders is just downright shocking. NYPD shouldn't have to waste their time with this; people should have an ounce of a brain to know that it is not safe to hang around the park during this pandemic, let alone overcrowd it.

Let me give it a benefit of a doubt. You are getting cabin fever and want to go out for a walk... fine, then go out for a *brief* walk, wear a mask and make every effort to social distance. But hanging out at the lawn at Central Park?? Give me a break!

Ok guys. I don't want to alarm you with some of the contents of my post. But I'm here to give you a little story of my movements from the past few days. I had one symptom of a really bad chesty cough which occurred on Friday the 6th of May which was over a week ago. It had happened while I was watching TV in my living room during the evening time. It was quite nasty to begin with because it was quite frequent with no mucus coming out of me. It was like a dry cough because that is currently one of the known symptoms of Coronavirus. It had affected my sleep from that night onwards for the past few nights. I had literally no sleep taken in my bed at all because this cough was giving me interruptions in my sleeping patterns.

I had left it alone for a while because I had thought that it would go away. It wasn't as bad as I thought.

I had suffered a severe chest infection about 10 years ago. That illness back then was like severe hell for me. I had suffered with it at home for about 9 days. It happened in my living room quite suddenly when I had the severe cough as the first symptom. I went to the GP a few days later & he said it was a chest infection. I had to take time off school to make myself get well. It was a bad week to do it though because I had missed out on a school break with my classmates in Clare for a week as I had been at home recovering from my illness.

My eating habits during my latest cough was a little disappointing. The pace in where I eat my breakfast & dinner was not up to my best. I would eat very slowly for the 1st few days when I had problems with the cough. I was able to get back to eating properly only in the past few days. But it has returned to normal after days of coughing up with nothing coming up of my throat.

The other symptoms that I have had with this recent cough were slight headaches, post-nasal drip & the lack of sleep & appetite.

Both my mother & myself got tested for Covid-19 last Wednesday morning. She had symptoms of coughing & sneezing while she had a minor illness.

We were brought in by ambulance at separate times that morning to my local hospital in Dublin to be given the swab test. I had to wait a few minutes in the ambulance for a female nurse to confirm my details before I went in for the test. As I walked into the testing centre with her; I applied hand sanitizer & went into to a room down the corridor where I met a male doctor or nurse. He had done the test on me while I was in the testing centre. When the test was being carried out; I had to look out the window with the mask underneath my mouth while the test was being done for the throat swab. I didn't like the throat swab at all as I nearly gagged on it in front of him while it was going down my throat. A similar thing happened with me doing the gagging when the nasal swab was put into me. But thankfully it didn't last for too long. It was a very brief & gentle test but it lasted a little bit longer than it was needed.

We had to wait for up to 5 days to get our test results back to us. If any medical staff called us on the phone; we would have known it was positive. If it was positive; we would had to do the contract tracing afterwards a day or two later. If we got the results via text message; then the results for us would be negative. Anyway my mother & I got the test results back via a text message this evening. The messages had the name 'HSE COVID19' written on our phones before we opened them. That was really good news for us because we are both declared negative for Covid-19. I was relieved to hear this because I thought I would have had the virus this whole time. But as of tonight; things for us have changed for the better.

And I have more good news to share as my cough & other symptoms has died down a lot over the past day or two. I think it was probably another chest infection or a hayfever cough. Whatever it was; it was quite an annoying little ba5tard that had given me a right scare during this pandemic. I hope it never comes back again but as I suffer from hayfever next month & it might come back like a vengeance.
