If anyone still need toilet paper, Amazon is selling a pretty huge bundle of 80 rolls.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I know I must be crazy for doing this, but I went ahead and placed an order. At a little over 50 cents per roll, that's not a bad deal at all. Some of my neighbors told me that toilet paper is still extremely hard to find at the store and when they do eventually find it, it's overpriced. So, considering I'm always home now and use up toilet paper at a much faster rate, it never hurts to buy a big bulk now and stock up. Looks like 80 rolls might last me a very long time. EDIT- LOL, two minutes after I posted this, it sold out. But do keep checking, this seems to come back in stock every so often. |

Not to mention instilling a false sense of protection among the common mass as the Wisconsin lady in the video admits to. The vast majority of physicians and Medical Boards are proponents of science and even though some have legitimately prescribed off-label use of medications for other maladies, including for that matter HCQ for pseudogout, they strongly believe due to its safety concerns, the prophylactic use of hydroxychloroquine against COVID-19 needs to be further investigated before cavalier prescribing it as such. Hopefully this study should prove guidance - https://www.dicardiology.com/article...begins-detroit if it passes peer review. |

The drug can only be precured thru a prescription, so I don’t think there will be very much stock piling by the public. Also, I have not seen any articles that it is being prescribed to the public for prevention. I haven’t read of any shortages yet. I am glad that there are more and more trials. Hopefully they are successful. |

I'm subscribed to online daily news briefings from The New York Times, which I read diligently on my commute to work. Most of the time the briefings all start with a COVID-related topic but lately they've been about other subjects. Today's top 3 headlines: A California college is dropping the SAT, China cracks down on Hong Kong and Joe Biden is considering Elizabeth Warren for running mate. I guess this means COVID isn't a thing anymore? Or at least it's partial good news that the worst may be behind us.

I stick with local news because at least at that level you get more of the facts and less of the opinions presented as facts like you will watching anyone on cnn, msnbc and fox these days.

HIV & COVID-19 are two completely different types of illnesses & shouldn't even be uttered together in the same breath - or compared to each other in any way, shape, or form. Doing so is misleading, erroneous, and ignorant. And, yes - I understand that the discussion was more on how the illnesses will be dealt with than their method/mode of transmission. But, again, they are two completely different types of illnesses & shouldn't be compared in any way. |

Of which a ripple effect was – “Gwendolyn Young walked into her pharmacy in Los Angeles four days after the president’s March 19 briefing, trying to pick up a 90-day prescription of hydroxychloroquine. She has taken the medication for more than 30 years to treat lupus. The drug, while approved for malaria, is also used to treat lupus and other autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. Hundreds of thousands of patients across the United States rely on it to keep painful symptoms at bay. At the pharmacy, Ms. Young said, she was told to start rationing her pills because the drug was being given only to patients who had Covid-19. She was eventually able to get a 14-day supply, but the uncertainty has made her anxious. “Will I have to keep doing this every 14 days?” she said. “What happens to those people who don’t push the way I do?” Although the availability of hydroxychloroquine has improved in recent weeks, the Food and Drug Administration still lists it as being in short supply. Mike Donnelly, vice president of communications for the Lupus Foundation of America, said that the organization received calls and emails daily from patients who were told their prescription could be filled only in part or not at all. A spokesman for the Arthritis Foundation said some patients received their refills only after calling around to as many as a dozen pharmacies." And if you're one of these guys who now questions N.Y. Times reporting, last month the Medical Board of California sent all licensed physicians warning them of the problem/result of over prescribing HCQ which was already happening. I saw that the CDC is estimating the mortality rate to be a bit lower than previously thought, so that's good. On the vaccine side of things, I've read that the absolute earliest would be sometime next year, and even that would be miraculously fast.

Using that figure would put the number of currently/previously infected in the U.S. at around 37 million (96,731 deaths / 0.0026), which would be 11% of the population. Seems a little high at this point, but not unrealistically so. Surprised to see such optimistic estimates from the CDC. I hope they are reasonably close. |
