As of yesterday, indoor seating (50% capacity) is open at restaurants/pubs. So me and me mates met up there today. Got a free shot, a free beer and pulled 2 hundo on the pulltabs. A most excellent day. *air guitars*

This is the second time that you seem to be bothered when someone mentions the Brazilian situation.

It's not a competition. Let's forget the America über alles mentality for a while, shall we? It's a worldwide pandemic. You're having it the worst in the world right now, but you're not the only ones who are suffering.

From what I’ve heard, yes, it’s a fragile, uneven situation hospital to hospital. At some hospitals, increased use is/can quickly exceed the available supply of PPE (masks, gowns) resulting in shortages thusly necessitating ‘conservation procedures’ which, in essence, are moving the goalposts of previous guidelines as regards to safety so as to *make do*.

The real question is the second wave. How much will it impact us?

Not sure and have been wondering about this as well. There have been numerous reports on many new cases from the current things happening.

Also I read that some NG members tested positive for it. So there is idea how many people in that protest had it and infected others.

Could definitely be because of masks. The other possibility is that they are two of the many people who don't transmit the virus easily, if at all. Perhaps a combination of both things.

Also very little face to face contact cutting hair. Except for a few minutes cutting the front part, most of the time they are at your side or behind you.

Putting ourselves in the shoes of these nurses working in those hospitals we can feel and share their vulnerabilities, anxieties, powerless working conditions. It's like going to war without a rifle, without bullets, with water guns. It's like being inside a real life movie, a nightmare horror film.

Say both of us are professional doctors working in one of those hospitals; it's not very encouraging for our sons and daughters who are studying @ the universities to become doctors because of the lack of proper protective medical equipment...including masks.

Might as well work in the film (entertainment) industry, even if it's less noble.
In my family three worked in the hospital sector, providing care. Two are retired and one is still working. The closest one to acting and working in the entertainment (films, artists, musicians, ...) industry is me. And you too...Maverick.

He comes full equipped with protective gear and hard hat, and mask with Google, and oxygen and all (even an ejecting seat in case...for safety backup) ...

Time will only tell, but I estimate it will be like McNeely vs. Tyson where McNeely is COVID and Tyson is USA.

The problem is that so many people are looking at other countries without realizing that the US also has a big problem; a much bigger problem than any other country. First, it’s like, oh no, look at China. Then, Italy. Then now Brazil. People are like, oh wow they have it so bad. It’s like, hello!! What about the US?? Nah, don’t worry about us. No problem here; it’s all good!

Case counts holding steady at around 21,300 per day. That's not such a bad thing as long as deaths continue to decline, which they are, now at 800 per day. That's down from nearly 1,000 a day from just last week.

lol, thats a very selfish perspective to have.

sounds like you are saying the entire world should only look to and care about the USA ... its no wonder we americans have the image we do in the eyes of the rest of the world.

Were you living under a rock for the last 2-3 months when NY, and the US were pretty much the epicenter, and that's all the news talked about? You seem to act like people aren't still talking about the US 24/7 now. You have a very selective memory it seems.

50% capacity restrictions are not being enforced on public buses in NJ (not sure about NY). Bus drivers will yell at you if you don't have a mask on but nobody is saying or doing anything about capacity. Bus service is also free in many areas of my neighborhood and in NYC - how can they keep the system running with less revenue?
