also, they do disinfect each table/chairs after someone leaves, much more thoroughly then a regular wipe. this has at least been my experience and obviously, some places will not be as thorough as another. Quote:

Cases have spiked by 38% in the last week (since 6-18), going from an average of 24,805 to 34,158
Deaths, on the other hand, continue to decline, down 8.4% from last week, going from 665 to 609 per day. Since deaths lags cases though by an average of 3 weeks, it's likely deaths will start to increase too in the next few weeks. A link to last week's charts. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...6#post17763766 |

![]() Governor is threatening to shut some things down again and not let students return to school in the fall if New Mexico numbers don't improve. Thing is, New Mexicans are not following protocol and we're bordered by 2 massive hot spot states. Not to mention we have a massive deficit due to the last huge shutdown so I don't think she can put her money where her mouth is. |

the governor was on the news last night actually saying there was a lot of misinformation going around in regards to TX. i forget the actual numbers but it was somewhere along the lines of 1600 ventilators are currently being used out of 4200 and that they certainly are not short on beds....

Regarding outdoor dining restaurants, I actually passed by a couple of them the other day and one employee was wiping down the empty tables and not wearing a mask. I also saw a bartender preparing drinks inside and wearing his mask on his chin. So, I don't have full trust that these places are following proper protocol and that's why I refuse to dine in these places right now. Last edited by MrHT; 06-26-2020 at 05:57 PM. |

Does air conditioning spread the coronavirus?
the short...they dont know lol but they did mention the study in China that was previously mentioned in here: A study published in April raised concerns that air conditioning could spread the coronavirus. The research, published in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Emerging Infectious Diseases journal, detailed an instance in which 10 restaurantgoers in China were sickened after eating at neighboring tables. The authors concluded that the virus was spread by the air conditioning system blowing tiny virus-laden droplets through the air. Schaffner said this study may be an interesting outlier, but noted that there have been no further stories like this documented with the millions of infections worldwide. Dr. Amesh Adalja, an infectious disease physician and a senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, agreed. “I haven't seen any strong evidence that we're seeing that this is transmitted in an airborne manner,” he said. “This is primarily spreading from droplets that go from one person directly to another person.” While it’s theoretically possible that air conditioning can facilitate the spread of the virus, a lot of factors would have to align for that to happen, such as the timing of a cough or a gush of air at the right moment, Joseph Fair, a virologist and a NBC News contributor, said. Spread through air conditioning isn’t a major factor in transmission, as the numbers don’t reflect that, he said. “Ventilation and filtration provided by heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems can reduce the airborne concentration of SARS-CoV-2 and thus the risk of transmission through the air,” the statement said. “In general, disabling of heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems is not a recommended measure to reduce the transmission of the virus.” https://www.yahoo.com/news/does-air-...083102812.html |

Yeah the media is once again lying, shocker! They don't mind that their words have serious consequences and damage to local businesses. And the death rate per 100,000 people is as follows: New Jersey - 167 New York - 161 Florida - 15 Texas - 8 |

A good friend of mine works part time at a large chain clothing store (that shall remain nameless) here in NYC. They haven't opened up the stores yet but working to get the stock ready and mark everything down.
Today was their first day back and managers told the workers that, when they open up next week, they're NOT going to insist that people wear masks. The logic is that, because it's not an actual law, it's not enough to force them to have everyone in masks. The employees, however, must wear them at all times. I wonder how many workers will be forced to quit because of rules like this. It puts them in a terrible position: choose the possibility of getting sick and losing their life over losing their income. |

Not looking good at all in parts of California right now. New records & postponing of phased opening. Gov. Newsom just tweeted in the last 1/2 hour:
"Positivity rate: 5.7% over 7 days. That rate in Imperial County, however, is at 23%. Hospitals there are overwhelmed. So today we’re working with the county to reinstate a stay at home order. We have to take this seriously." |

After having preached about how we should take precautions and such, I am going to be taking the biggest risk today since this pandemic started.... going for a haircut. I'll be heading over to my barber this evening after I sign off from work.
Very scary due to the lack of social distancing at the barbershop, but I need a haircut so badly. My mom helped by giving my hair a trim every few weeks during the lockdown, but she just did a poor job. I don't blame her as she's not a professional. I couldn't have done a better job myself, so not her fault. But the layers upon layers of unevenness in my hair plus the change of style in her cutting vs. my barbers really messed things up over time and I would like to get this fixed once and for all... |
