Welcome to the United States of Corona-ville. ![]() In all seriousness, each state is handling it differently, hence the wildly differing outlooks and outbreaks. There is no uniform rule/law that all states have to follow. |

Not much where I was, they are very strict in regards to forest fires.
In Vancouver, the mainland, I don't know...I didn't watch the news. In New York ... ![]() Fireworks burst from the top of the Empire State Building during the Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular in New York City. Last edited by LordoftheRings; 07-05-2020 at 06:38 AM. |

politically speaking everything is opened up now with some rules, masks are recommended but generally obligatory (they will be for public transit after July 13 and in some municipalities that enacted their own regulations), private gatherings max 10 people from three housholds, public gatherings max 50. They had opened elementary schools and daycares out side of Montreal area but now it is summer brake. day camps are allowed but not sleep away camps. Socially speaking I think it is like everywhere else, some people take it seriously while other don't. I live on the southshore and have not been on the island since it started. Even here I have been twice to a little bakery (only me and the baker in there and it had plexiglass and the employee was wearing a mask) and have only been to a grocery store for pickup (i.e. order on line, get there at our slot, call to say we are outside, they bring out groceries and put it in your car) what I see in those few minutes is some people wear masks others maybe not ( did they put it on after entering, take it off before exiting... impossible to say) with my dad in his eighties and living with us we really want to make sure we don't bring it in our home so none of us mingle with others. Probably a bit harder on kids. But we all must do our part to keep each other safe |

Federally masks are mandatory on trains if 2m distance can't be maintained and planes. Quebec last week made them mandatory on all public transportation starting July 13 How about where you live? |

In the early stages of the pandemic; transport operators had to run reduced timetables for a while & place yellow coloured 2m signs on seats on all public transport vehicles & facilities. The operators had to drastically reduce capacity to keep it for essential workers & for other people going on essential journeys. A standard double decker bus with either front & middle doors and with front doors only could only fit a maximum of between 15 to 18 people per bus. The transport operators have signs in their vehicles & facilities here below to say they had reduced capacity. ![]() Since Monday there has been a really good uptake so far of people wearing face masks on my local bus routes although take up of this measure has been very low in Ireland. Only 10% of people have been wearing face masks on public transport services around the country since Monday. I cannot really guage a picture for you on train & tram services because bus services are the only mass transport services near to my home. Last edited by dublinbluray108; 07-05-2020 at 06:27 PM. |

Yesterday (July 4) only 254 recorded deaths in the US ...
• https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ This must be the lowest count in the last while. * Mexico; if things follow the pattern of recent days...in ten days (mid-July) they will surpass Italy in the total count of departed. ...And would become number 4 in the overall worldwide losses count, behind UK, Brazil and US. ** Thx Anthony for your reply above. |

Zero would be perfect. * Worldwide yesterday it was 4,500 departed. ** That bus in Dublin, Ireland, looks very clean. Here on the Island (Vancouver, BC) overall I see roughly 10% of people wearing masks, on average. Last time I was in town, just three days ago (Thursday), that's what I noticed. And I visited about six different establishments plus I walked around on sidewalks, and of course I drove around. In cities (Victoria, Nanaimo), you don't see too many masks in general. Some days more or less, it depends of who you encounter on different days. In the countryside, none. I find banks are the toughest places to go...it takes forever. And depending on the days and time when going grocery shopping it can be quite long too. Another thing I noticed, in general there is much more traffic (cars in the city streets). Things are supposed to slack tomorrow, in banks...with more than one teller working...about time! Self-distancing is always the prime directive. And plexiglass is everywhere, I mean everywhere. So it must be tremendous good business for plexiglass makers. If you want to invest ... plexiglas. ![]() ![]() Today is magnificent, weather wise here on the Island. Hundreds of scientists say coronavirus is airborne, ask WHO to revise recommendations Quote:
There's nothing scribed in gold tablets when it comes to COVID-19 ... It is constantly evolving and we are discovering each minute ... because many expert scientists and epidemiologists are working on a race clock on this, 24/7 all over the world. I hope WHO follows the expert scientist's recommendations...that's what they are paid for, to protect humanity's health, to prevent the spreading of viruses, to offer help in combating, financial help, proper medical equipment, support to front line fighters, telling the world the truth, ... all that jazz. |
