Some random thoughts...

Some people are still under the impression that they MUST wear a mask at ALL times. I don't cover my face whenever I'm outdoors walking towards the train station or headed to the neighborhood market. I put the mask on just before I enter a building or public transit waiting area. I don't congregate in crowded areas outdoors so there's no need to wear a mask outside. Even if I did get an itch to socialize, I probably wouldn't since I'd have to wear a mask and I'm sick of wearing them. What's going to happen when they find a vaccine and masks are no longer required? Are people stiill going to wear them out of force of habit? lol

I'd hate to have a night shift in NYC what with the subways shut down between 1 and 5 AM. How do people who need public transit get around? This is a service cutback disguised as "cleaning" closures. How long will it be before they expand those down hours?

Manufacturers of automatic door systems must be doing brisk business. I see a lot of buildings in my area converting to airport-style automated doors. I wish my building would. Anything people don't have to touch is a good thing.

Quick note - I'd rather see people wear masks too much out of caution than wear them not enough due to whatever reasons they may have.

I doubt most people will keep wearing masks after this dies down, I imagine the majority hate them like I do.

I Don't really miss going to the theater or going to restaurants much at all. Getting a haircut from a relative has been hit or miss. I dont really mind grooming the dog. Overall a fair number of things aren't to bad to do yourself.
Nope. I really miss museums and malls.

I miss unfettered life in general but I also know this is temporary and not permanent, "normal" will come back, we just have to be patient.

I’m in a big time tourist town and they have closed the downtown main streets so that restaurants could expand to outside and give customers the ability to social distance.
Yesterday we were having breakfast outside and i was watching this Enforcement type Fella telling people to put their mask on along with giving some to people that didn’t have one.
With so many of us wearing masks, I’m surprised to see the amount of people that got told or didn’t have a mask. It’s the rule here, there’s signs everywhere stating that, almost everyone is wearing one, yet there’s an idiot here n there strolling down the sidewalk without a care and in the world.
Thankfully, the percentage of people not in compliance is very low.
I see the license plates on vehicles and am aware that there’s people here from everywhere in Canada and I know that I need to be extra careful.
It boggles my mind when I see people that are so careless.

It's particularly shocking when it's someone who works in the medical field in some capacity (they're easy to identify by their scrubs). I've seen some of these workers in the Subway sans mask - a BIG no-no! Most of the non-compliant people in my area are the homeless. I wish we had an Enforcer (lol) going around handing out masks - and scorns

A beach in Brazil, Sunday, August 30th.

It's as if everything's ok - no 1k deaths per day, 120k total, almost 4 million confirmed cases.

The worst thing about the pandemic is the people.

I'm in the same boat. If I'm walking towards the train station, or venturing out to Mickey D's or the closest pizza place for lunch, I just keep my mask stashed in my pocket, and only put it on when I'm about to get on the train, or enter the building in question. And the second my work shift ends and I hit the parking lot, the mask comes off. Some people think there are giant, sentient clouds of Covid prowling the streets, just looking to pounce on unwary victims, like that Simpsons episode about the "Osaka Flu".

Hell, I don't even sweat touching surfaces that much, because I wash/sanitize my hands thoroughly multiple times per day, and avoid putting my fingers anywhere near my eyes. I only slap a pair of gloves on at work when I'm emptying the trash receptacles, or sanitizing the bathrooms. Otherwise, I just wash/sanitize them a couple times per hour. You're only gonna get sick if someone without a mask sneezes directly in your face.

I miss movie theater lobbies filed with crowds of happy, chattering people waiting for their showings to start. Hell, I miss theater lobbies that have places to SIT DOWN.

Yeah, I think some folks think that you can catch COVID simply by breathing the air as soon as they step outside. Those are the people who don't bother getting informed/educated about current events/updates.

not worth the confrontation. what to you expect to get out of it? that the person actually puts a mask on? not gonna happen....then there are the few who have medical exemptions...if you see someone in a store without a mask, best to just keep your distance.

2 primary school students from Dublin; Ireland and Armagh in Northern Ireland had both tested positive with Covid-19.

It's been reported that the Dublin student, in this case, did not catch the virus within the school. The entire class, in which I assume were the student's classmates, have been sent home from the school to self-isolate at home as a precautionary measure.

The student in Jonesborough Primary School in Co. Armagh along with the classes had been required to self-isolate for 14 days.

The classroom in Armagh has since been closed today for a deep clean. The rest of the classrooms in the school were unaffected.

217 new confirmed Covid-19 cases & no deaths have been reported from The Republic of Ireland today, Tuesday September 1st.

The 5 day moving average number of cases is at 115 per day. There was 53 cases & no deaths confirmed on Monday.
