speak to your physician as to whether your personal history puts you at risk for an anaphylactoid or anaphylactic reaction with the Pfizer vaccine

I don't like the idea of fearing through an ordeal of getting a potential anaphylactic shock in my own body from the Pfizer vaccine whatsoever. I rather just wait it out a little bit longer until I get word of either a safe Oxford, Moderna or Johnson & Johnson Covid vaccine becomes available from the GP instead.
dublin, do you carry an adrenaline auto injector (such as an EpiPen) for your allergies? The two UK citizens who had reactions both did.

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) initially advised anyone with “a history of a significant allergic reaction to a vaccine, medicine or food” to avoid taking the vaccine.

However, by the end of Wednesday that guidance was set to be refined after discussions with experts on the nature of the reactions.

We’re tweaking advice to make it very clear that if you’ve got a food allergy, you’re not more at risk,” Imperial College London’s Paul Turner, an expert in allergy and immunology who has been advising the MHRA on their revised guidance, told Reuters.
Quote:
Imperial College London’s Turner said: “As we’ve had more information through, the initial concern that maybe it affects everyone with allergies is not true.

The ingredients like PEG which we think might be responsible for the reactions are not related to things which can cause food allergy. Likewise, people with a known allergy to just one medicine should not be at risk,” Turner told Reuters.
This is why media needs to stop spreading misinformation before they even have all the facts. People with food allergies apparently have nothing to worry about. It's those who have a known history of serious reactions with other vaccines or medicines, which applies to any vaccine really.

Now there's zero chance of my mom getting the vaccine. My mom is an anti-vaxxer for that very reason... she has serious allergic reactions to certain foods, medicine and animals. So now that we are officially getting warned about allergies, then she won't be getting vaccinated for sure.

Well, still early days, and there are other vaccines coming.

Indeed, from the report about this I heard today, for the time being they say if your risk to allergy is so high that you carry an EpiPen, then you should hold off for now. Also yes I agree there will be other alternative vaccines, each will have different risks and side-effects so some will be more suitable for these people than others.

Just because they have approval, doesn't mean that the research stops. They will have "head to head" trials for example.

recommends EUA approval for the Pfizer vaccine and FDA follows that recommendation, then ACIP - https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/acip/index.html will advise as to who should and who shouldn’t get the vaccine. For those who don’t carry an EpiPen for this or that allergy but still have vaccine anxiety over possible side effects (even though only 2 recipients out of thousands in the U.K. had anaphylactoid reaction), I would imagine that all vaccine centers will have a crash cart close by with Benadryl, Epinephrine, ambu bag, etc. in the drawers in order to quickly treat. So nobody should get the idea that there will be no therapeutic intervention in case needed.

In addition to - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post18042485, during today’s meeting a new program (VSAFE) was announced in which the public (vaccine recipients) will be able to text message the CDC to quickly report adverse reactions they may be experiencing in order to provide a mechanism for quick reporting with regards to an active, on-going surveillance on vaccines.

So has the Pfizer vaccine been FDA approved yet? I heard yesterday during our Governor's briefing that it's expected to be approved today! Yet, I didn't see any news regarding that after googling just now. Any delays?

Don't know, but vaccination facilities may verify such potential recipients by checking something like ICD codes - https://www.aaaai.org/Aaaai/media/Me...ficiencies.pdf

I can't link the article directly as it may be too political but it’s flattering when the New York Times from an opinion piece from this afternoon
“According to a document from the Department of Health and Human Services, a total of 108 doses of Regeneron’s monoclonal antibody cocktail have been allocated to Washington, which had 265 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday alone.”

apparently reads Blu-ray.com as a source - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...n#post18404088

Penton, I stay outside during my friend's cancer treatments...half hour roughly.
He has beautiful nurses surrounding him inside; that is his time...I don't want to interfere.
