Speaking of prison, that seems to be the safest place to be these days. Has there been any reported outbreaks in *any* prisons worldwide?

I can see a future where studios will want to generate income today, even for sacrificing higher income tomorrow. With all Cinemas closed due to the pandemic and a few studios that will release on demand theatrical releases I think the writing is finally on the wall for 3D.

While I have some wonderful memories of the cinema and have enjoyed them immensely I do get increasingly frustrated by the lack of courtesy from fellow movie goers and the poor projection technology. IMAX Laser was the only cinema I'd frequent.

Very sad about that. HDR just doesn't get me excited like 3D did. But at least without theaters and with HDR we're able to get basically D-Cinema level quality at home for our TVs and Projectors

I am only presenting some facts about this particular doctor. I have not watched the video. I have never seen any of his videos. A little research got me this information. Check it out and decide for yourself whether or not whether to believe what he says.

1. He is not a medical doctor. He is a Chiropractor. Completely different training.

2. A webpage about the legal trouble he got into because of some of his claims. https://quackwatch.org/cases/board/chiro/berg/

Coronavirus Live Updates: U.S. Reaches Grim Milestone: 100 Deaths

Quote:
The 101 deaths, all announced in the last three weeks, came as the number of known coronavirus cases in the United States soared past 5,600 on Tuesday. Hundreds more people are learning they have the illness each day, including more than 800 diagnoses on both Monday and Tuesday, as the nation’s testing capacity has grown significantly and as the virus spreads.

About half the country’s reported deaths have been in Washington State, including at least 30 linked to a long-term care facility in the Seattle suburb of Kirkland. Most of those who have died from the virus have been in their 60s or older, and several have been in their 90s. But other patients who died have been younger, including a corrections worker in New York City in his 50s and a man from the Seattle area in his 40s.

New York Virus to Peak in 45 Days, Taxing Hospitals, Cuomo Says

Quote:
(Bloomberg) -- New York state will be in desperate need of hospital beds and ventilators soon, and may need more than 12 times the existing intensive-care capacity, Governor Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday.

The state is estimating the numbers of cases caused by the novel coronavirus outbreak will peak in 45 days, at which point it will need between 55,000 and 110,000 hospital beds, as well as 18,600 to 37,200 intensive-care unit beds, Cuomo told reporters in Albany.

The state currently has 53,000 hospital beds and 3,000 ICU beds available, he said.

Coronavirus cases have reached 1,374 in New York, and 12 people have died as of Tuesday, according to state data. There is a hospitalization rate of 20%, Cuomo said. The actual percentage of patients needing hospitalization is likely far lower, since many people with mild cases haven’t been diagnosed.
Quote:
On Tuesday, he said he alone has the authority to order citizens to shelter-in-place, and has no plans to do so for New York City.

His comments contrasted with those of Mayor Bill de Blasio, who earlier said the most populous U.S. city may be forced to order residents to confine themselves in their homes in an effort to contain the spread of the new coronavirus.

“We hear New York City is going to quarantine itself; that can’t happen without state approval,” Cuomo said Tuesday in a press briefing. “I have no interest whatsoever or plan whatsoever to contain New York City.”

I have the same concern. My shopping day is today but I really would rather avoid it, but I need groceries. To make it worse I usually go to Wal-Mart which I'd really rather avoid today. I might do Target, but I wonder if their grocery section will be hit hard as it's not nearly as big as Wal-Mart. I hate my local grocers as they are so expensive.

Are you able to shop online with Wal-Mart? Do they offer same day delivery? I'd avoid other people as much as possible.

I think the writing is on the walls more for theaters than just 3D. Can a theater survive with no income for 3+ months? Hell, can ANYTHING? The "solution" to not getting this virus is worse than the virus itself. It only kills at 0.1% for people 0-40. This will kill most of the economy completely. We'll ALL suffer.

Well, I've got my doctor appointment this morning.

I'm less than enthused. One set of gloves for the trip, one set of gloves for inside, I'm not sitting down on anything come Hell or high water, and - well, that's probably the best I can do. And not breathe.

I swear, if the PA tries to shake my hand I'm going to scream.

Ironically, I made the appointment to see if i can get taken off one of the immunosuppressants I'm on, but it's morphed into a physical exam for a possible Hernia as well. Wish me luck on all counts, guys.

With the college out enjoyed a nice jog and walk with my family at the intramural field track. For a while we were the only ones on the 1km loop. Glad I will still be able to enjoy these things like going for a jog as even before the pandemic there’s not a lot of people where I go

Spooked, it sounds like your name actually fits your mood right now. Don’t flip out, just use common sense and take your precautions. Best of luck to you.

Actions MUST be taken to flatten the COVID-19 curve. It isn't the mortality rate that is worrying officials today. It's the number of people who will have to be admitted to hospitals. The numbers can be mind boggling. In NY state there are 3000 ICU beds available today. In 45 days there may be 18,000 to 36,000 ICU COVID-19 patients if they can't halt the spread of the virus.

We do not want a repeat of this:

All 50 states now have at least one case. West Virginia was the last one.

Well there’s been 30-40 year olds who’ve been hospitalized. Everyone’s bodies will respond to the virus differently.

Yes I read the article and it says nothing to refute the well known fact that viruses spread less freely in warmer and humid climates. Of course their preemptive measures played and are playing a big part in containing the spread. But you can't dismiss the favorable climate as a non factor, which is rather ignorant. Cases would certainly be much higher if it has NYC's climate.
