People that pre-ordered Final Fantasy 7 Remake on Amazon are getting emails that there is no release date. Amazon isn’t letting vendors give them shipments of the products.

Experts say people as young as 30 are dying from coronavirus

Think only old people can die from coronavirus? Think again. Expert who led team assessing China's outbreak says NO ONE is safe from the killer virus

  • More than 200,000 people in around 170 countries have been infected
  • Coronavirus symptoms: what are they and should you see a doctor?

PUBLISHED: 03:29 EDT, 18 March 2020 | UPDATED: 09:05 EDT, 18 March 2020

Elderly people are the most at-risk of developing severe coronavirus, but experts warn young, healthy people are still dying from the respiratory infection.

Globally, more than 200,000 people in around 170 countries have been infected with COVID-19 since the outbreak began in China in December.

Most of the 8,000 fatalities recorded across the world have been people who are elderly or suffer underlying conditions, and have weakened immune systems.

But Bruce Aylward, who assessed the pandemic in China, said there are an alarming number of young people who have developed complications from the disease.

Dr Aylward, of the World Health Organization, has already warned people as young as 30 were dying from the life-threatening virus.

Meanwhile, an emergency doctor in Belgium has revealed the shocking lung scans of 'young, healthy people', which he described as 'nothing short of terrifying'.

Chinese health officials carried out the biggest ever study on the never-before-seen strain of the virus, using data from 72,000 cases. They found 19 per cent of patients who died were below the age of 60 years.

When the body is faced with a new infection, it builds an immune response that can be activated the next time they become infected.

With a new virus such as that which causes COVID-19, nobody has the antibodies needed to fight it.

This means anyone can get sick, even if they may appear healthy or go through every winter without being affected by flu or the common cold.

'I would emphasise that there were a lot of people in their 30s, 40s, 50s, who were dying as well,' Dr Aylward said at a conference earlier this month.

'People who did have co-morbid conditions had a much higher ratio of dying from the disease, but in most people there were no other predictors, apart from age, that they could die.'

Emergency doctor Ignace Demeyer, on the frontline in Belgium, also warned no one is exempt from catching the virus.

Speaking to Belgian broadcaster VRT, Dr Demeyer said they have few elder patients, and more of those aged between 30 and 50 who are ‘terribly affected by the virus’.

"They all have the same complaints,’ he said. "They have been sick for a week, stayed home with the flu. The flu attack is over, they think. They feel fine for two days. And then they report with complaints of a dry cough and shortness of breath.’

Investigations reveal the patient’s blood oxygen levels are very low for their age. COVID-19 is a respiratory disease which can leave some in need of oxygen ventilators.

Dr Demeyer also showed recent scans of a coronavirus patient – representing ‘sporty, young people’ – which are ‘nothing short of terrifying’.

We should all be worried about this. A "don't worry about it" attitude is not needed right now. In the very least please be worried about spreading it around & potentially giving it to someone else, especially someone that is at high risk of dying from it. You might not die from it, but someone you give it to can die from it & because you gave it to them. Also worry about giving it to someone that gives it to someone else that gives it to someone else & on & on until someone along the chain dies from it. Again, a person can have it & not even know it & be spreading it around & as a result someone along the contact chain, or someone they directly gave it to dies from it & possibly from having a "don't worry about it" type of mentality. Understand that people are dying from this.

And, if you know you have COVID-19 & you're not quarantining yourself & you're out in public spreading this around, well then, that's a completely different level of messed up.

I noticed this last night. No release date on my order. Guess it'll be delayed for the one hundredth time.

What would really help is having disposable gloves and/or hand sanitizers set up at grocery stores and places like Costco and Walmart, where it is mandatory to either remove the gloves or wash your hands on entering or leaving. A store environment, especially if they are the only places open, is probably most dangerous place to be for catching it (aside from getting it from others who you live with). N95 masks would be very helpful as well, although there is a shortage of them. But they need to be made available, at least for being in crowded stores.

I am taking all precautions to be careful in instances when I am out and about, but I am not freaking out about this, I know that triggers many of you on here. I am not continuing with life as it was before, but the constant stress, if I can lessen in any way, get more sleep, will keep me healthier. I continue with my jogging routines a few times a week as it keeps me healthy and the vitamin D from the sun is a good thing, I take vitamin C regularly, I don't think this would ward off the virus if I somehow came in contact with it, but I feel better taking precautions. I have a mother with Lupus hundreds of miles away, but I know my stepfather is strict about her routines and ramps them up in the face of all this as well.

People are being maniacs about this, I posted about being concerned while getting groceries of all the parents there with small children and how I wouldnt bring my daughter into that situation. The snarky comments about I was just going to get it and give it to her when I came home anyway. Food need to be bought, and I sanitized many times before and after going.

"ANN confirmed on Tuesday that Amazon's suppliers, including anime and manga companies, received a message stating that it is prioritizing the restocking, fulfillment, and shipping of "household staples, medical supplies, and other high demand products" until April 5 in light of the spread of the new coronavirus disease COVID-19. Amazon has temporarily halted ordering for products other than those listed above."

Guess this explains why FF7R has been delayed or whatever the case is

Add in Washington and those two states easily cover more than half of the KNOWN cases and of the deaths unfortunately.

Heard some sort of pitter patter running across my bedroom ceiling last night last night( my bedroom is in a basement) must be a rat or something.
I checked around the house and I did not see any visible holes were it could be coming in in the first place.
With the current situation, I'm not even sure I could get an exterminator to do an inspection.

Damn, I hope the oncology dept. one didn't infect any patients, that would be horrible.

NY is now over 2,400. I'm at a loss of words. California has a larger population than NY. Yet, they don't have even half as many cases as NY. What the F***?!?!

Yeah, that's what pisses me off. One state was Coronavirus-free and we blew it.

Unfortunately people aren't taking this seriously and still spreading the disease. Everyone needs to wake up and do their part.....

Stay at home, stay at home, stay at home!!!!

If you are ill in any way, shape or form.... STAY AT HOME!!!!

The Death Rate for COVID-19 is 4%. The Death Rate from seasonal flu is typically around 0.1% in the U.S. If the Death Rate was for same for CV19 as it is for seasonal flu then only 203 people would have died. Let that sink in for a moment to understand why flattening the CV-19 curve by social distancing, business closures and staying at home are so important

THIS is what the media and local governments should be telling people, not spouting doomsday nonsense about being prepared and running off hourly tallies of mounting cases. People assume that getting the virus spells an automatic death sentence and that is NOT the case. The misinformation, media sensationalism and mixed messages are what's causing the panic buying. Maybe people should just stop watching news. I have.

Um, people in their 30s have died.

It was on the news a few weeks ago that there was an Asian guy in his early 30s, with no pre-existing medical conditions in NY, that contracted the virus and was hospitalized in critical condition.

So yeah, we need to be worried. We all could potentially die!!
