...Cool. ![]() EDIT: He has since removed/made the video private. Good. It's dangerous to pretend everything is fine, Dave. Last edited by The Boot; 03-18-2020 at 11:05 PM. Reason: Homeboy removed the video. |

Things in Italy will get bad for a while, but eventually, if citizens follow the lock-down properly, new cases should eventually start dropping. The fatality rate was bound to be very high because they have a pretty high life expectancy. Apparently 99% of those that died also had some other underlying illnesses, with nearly half of them having 3 or more of them.
It's looking bad in the US, especially in NY, but the increasing numbers here are also due to the increase in the amount of tests finally being done. New York did about 15,000 tests so far, and 5,000 were done yesterday alone. So numbers are going to start shooting up like crazy here, and it's going to freak people out. Right now, about 16% of those tested in NY are positive. |

I love how a bunch of us, myself included, are still posting about the new Criterion announcements for June and about the possible titles in the MGM deal with Vinegar Syndrome, as though any of us are still going to give an actual **** about new Blu-ray releases a few weeks from now.
It's instinctive to cling to normalcy. |

Everywhere is its own brand of crazy right now.
I went for a solo 13-mile run yesterday in the late afternoon, since exercising outdoors by ourselves is still perfectly encouraged by the medical community as a form of social distancing. Several times as I ran though the trail park, though, I saw groups of 10-15 people hanging out together at the picnic tables just as they normally do all of the time. Friends were walking up the mountain in big clusters, talking, laughing, high-fiving each other, and such. Still, however, I cannot justify the public shaming of these people. We're all dealing with something unprecedented, and the severity of it has simply not hit home with most. Everybody is guilty, pretty much. |

This Facebook post comes from a healthy 30-something year-old ultrarunner who paced a friend of mine at a recent 100-miler. She was officially diagnosed with coronavirus today (after she had a fever earlier, warranting the test).
“Most cases just get minor or no symptoms” “it’s like a cold” “I’m healthy, I’ll be fine” “I’m not going to see any old people, it doesn’t matter” No. Stop. There is no reason to be voluntarily sick and there is no reason to make anyone else sick. You don’t know what other people’s underlying conditions are or what impact illness will have for them. Last Saturday I ran + walked 14 miles without problems. This weekend I was winded carrying a load of laundry upstairs. Just laying in bed and reading, I can’t take a full breath. I don’t have a fever, so am not seriously ill, but I also can’t do almost anything I normally would, thanks to the high risk situations I was put in through work. Going to a bar isn’t worth it. Hanging out with a group of friends isn’t worth it. Sending your kid on a play date or taking them to a park isn’t worth it. Taking a cheap vacation isn’t worth it. Don’t be that person. |

I just heard on Twitter that a baby under 1 years old now has Covid-19 in Ireland.
https://twitter.com/Healyhack/status...7%26posted%3D1 There's some confusing information being said online about taking ibuprofen whilst getting treated for Coronavirus. Some French medical officials have said earlier today that you should not take ibuprofen at all to treat it. They are saying that taking Ibuprofen make your Covid-19 symptoms worse if you continue with it as it aggravates your symptoms. You should take paracetamol instead to get rid of the symptoms; especially if you have a fever. Is that bit of advice true or do any of get differing advice on it? Also the number of cases for Covid-19 has risen again in Ireland. More details here on breakdown >>> https://www.gov.ie/en/press-release/...tal-statistics A table has been designed to tell us how many cases are in each county. Dublin currently has the highest number of cases in Ireland with 129. 3 counties in Ireland currently have no cases of Covid-19 at all. Those counties with no cases are Laois, Leitrim & Monaghan. |
