Wow, a boatload of day laborers outside of my Home Depot waiting for work, most of them probably have no idea what's going on either.
Still amazed the police are letting this continue.
Not using the 6-foot rule either.
Also saw couple of folks panhandling with their cardboard signs on highway medians on the way to getting my groceries.

What some people have done on this island is f**king disgusting! Where is your civic duty? Where is the Britain that endured aganist the Nazis?
Seems my last post was screened and not sure why?

Sainsburys and Tesco Extra here had both car parks full by 7.30 am apparently. On the one hand the panic buyers are preaching about keeping their distance from other people, yet on the other hand are hanging around heavily populated areas such as supermarkets? Strange.

Anways, just went next door to Tesco Express and they're only allowing 2 bottles of wine max per person. We're all pissheads round here and they know that. So selfish.

p.s for the vast majority of this planet it's not a death sentence and don't assume that it is just because the media will have you believe otherwise. If this whole thing was created to tear the world apart, then you're giving them exactly what they want by having a pop at each other.

I, at least, will keep the alcohol economy ticking along. Oh and you can keep your toilet paper too.....we had to use torn up newspaper back in the day and we'll do it again if we have to!!

To paraphrase

We shall go on to the end. We we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength. We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight this virus in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight it in the hills; we shall never surrender.

Words for then, now and forever whatever crisis befalls this island. No politics, no class. All people standing together for salvation.

Those of you furloughed, keep in mind retailers like Target and Walmart are open to hiring temps during these challenging times. Wouldn't hurt for some of these housewives to get a job in retail, some of them are freaking nuts out there.

Then again, if you got a temp job then you wouldn't qualify for unemployment (and Trump's upcoming stimulus package). So maybe reconsider what I just said...

doctors on the news last night said there was no evidence suggesting that. and that if you take the normal dosage nothing likely would affect you. but, they did recommend acetametaphine, so take Tylenol to be safe regardless

2) Texas 224 cases

NY is not even the most populated state. Why on earth does it have the most number of cases BY FAR??? And the rate it's skyrocketing is absolutely phenomenal! Yesterday, we were a little under 2,000. Now we're over 3,000!!! WTF?!?!
its been mentioned but i would certainly bet that NYC is more densely populated in comparison to area vs overall population of the state etc. vs other areas.

New York ramped up testing tremendously. Yesterday they did 7,500 tests. Compare that to early days when they were only doing 200 tests a day. So that's obviously going to increase the number of cases too.

Whatever the official number is, it's probably 4 times as many people that actually have it. But you have to hope with people staying home more, and other social distancing measures, that many infected people will not be able to spread it as easily as they have been when everything was normal.

It's going to take a while to see those effects though, and it's ridiculous to think it's going to happen overnight. This thing has a 2 week incubation period. That mans 2 weeks aog, when there was barely any social distancing, plenty of people in the wild got infected, and may just be showing signs of it now. So we have to wait another 2-3 weeks, and see how things are then. If there's no improvement, I can see Cuomo shutting down everything, and mandating a true shelter in place strategy.

Report from Italy's National Health Authority (ISS) - showing over 99% of fatalities had one or more underlying medical conditions - https://www.epicentro.iss.it/coronav...7_marzo-v2.pdf

0.8% of deaths occurred in those with no underlying medical conditions.

Looking at the numbers, Switzerland has a big problem on their hands. Not sure if it will reach Italy levels, but they need to shut everything down if they haven't yet.

The social distancing and shutdowns started to happen about a week ago so we will probably get a lot more cases these next couple days and then the numbers of new cases start to peel off next weekend. Just hoping we've contained it somewhat.

Hey, I love Evangeline Lilly, but that's just... wow. If I was in her position I would have purchased several freezers, filled them up, and had all of the kids home for a nice seclusion for the next few weeks.

I wish more people followed it. Specifically there are Orthodox, and Hasidic Jewish communities in Brooklyn, including in my neighborhood, that haven't changed a lot. They even had a wedding with like 400 people the other day. Apparently hundreds of them are getting sick, and putting a huge strain on the hospital system, but they're kind of being secretive about it (not surprising as they pretty much live in a world onto themselves).

Their schools (Yeshivas) were still open, but apparently set to close today. Look at this picture. Apparently sent in by someone with a 104 fever..This is insane to me.

I even sent in tips about this to various news organization, and thankfully there is coverage of it now from NY Times, NY Post, PIX 11, and others.

Awesome. So there is a culture of people who believe that refusing to practice extreme social distancing is the same as making a point. Must be cool to have a mental age of 14.

Many people don't think they are carrying it.

obviously....but the narrative is getting confusing. if places are open, dont they expect people to come?

and the article, she didnt say what she is doing, only not self quarantining. so what does that mean exactly?
