NY is not even the most populated state. Why on earth does it have the most number of cases BY FAR??? And the rate it's skyrocketing is absolutely phenomenal! Yesterday, we were a little under 2,000. Now we're over 3,000!!! WTF?!?!

Why? because we have DeBlasio and Cuomo running the show, maybe now NYers will finally wake up and stop voting for these people. So happy DeBlasio is gone in 2021

Cuomo is doing an amazing job right now. The majority of people out there are saying this, not just in NY. He is calm, but frank about the situation, and handling it really well. De Blasio on the other hand is a clown.

I can agree with this somewhat. Queens today had 700 positive cases. NYC is going on a 48 hour shutdown this weekend so things will get interesting. I'm going to Jones Beach later today to get a test done through the drive through process just to give myself peace of mind.

I'm not sure where you heard that, but there are no plans to shutdown NYC right now.

I honestly haven't looked into it. I'm scheduled to close tonight but I'm likely going to call and ask about taking the 14 days unpaid. We've got additional sick time but from my understanding we can use either. I'd rather save the sick time.

There is the possibility that your employer might pay you temporarily if they shut it down via the health department for sanitizing.

But that's a secondary concern when it comes to health, so I understand. Here's to hoping.

Sainsburys and Tesco Extra here had both car parks full by 7.30 am apparently. On the one hand the panic buyers are preaching about keeping their distance from other people, yet on the other hand are hanging around heavily populated areas such as supermarkets? Strange.

Sure, here we are, as a species. But how many individuals died from the Spanish Flu in 1918? I'm guessing most of us don't want to be one of the ones that die from this. Of course this won't wipe out humanity. But nobody wants to come down with this, and what it's doing to our economy alone is worth panicking about. This is going to be a bad time for a while.

Actually, if you read the latest reports, almost half of those who have tested positive and have serious symptoms had digestive issues/diarrhea as an early symptom, so they are adding this to the list of symptoms now.
