Pre-order went live for the Steelbook and I've ordered it!

This is only an Italian release.

It is a paramount film as well, I can see it getting a physical release pretty easily. They’ve been good about releasing streaming stuff, plus it would be a no-brainer for Criterion.

In any case I would be careful purchasing this as it’s likely the disc won’t include the English subtitles for native dialogue.

The same company released a blu ray for "CODA", also a streaming movie from Apple, and it has English subs for the sign language parts.

They also released a 4K disc of House of the Gucci which is the only one besides the Scandinavian.

Actually CODA was a 100% Eagle title...

But the end result is the same. All Leone Film Group titles are distributed by Eagle for physical home release...

Theatrically they can be distributed by Eagle Pictures or RAI Cinema (AKA 01 Distribution)

Leone Film Group sells directly the Digital release (VOD) and the TV/SVOD rights. They have an exclusive deal in place with Amazon Prime Video right now.

It would be hilarious if an Apple movie were released on Amazon Prime Video...

Maybe they can't do it for this particular title

Yes, still fully believing for now that this may not see any other physical release any time soon, I've pre-ordered the steelbook of this from Amazon/Italy.

If it does see a US blu, it could literally be a couple of years or more.

Kind of. In both cases Leone Film Group had aquired their rights before Apple stepped in.

CODA was independently produced and completed. Apple aquired the rights only after its premier at Sundance.

Killers of the Flower Moon was co-funded by Apple, but Leone had already secured the rights during early development of the project.

Good spot. I still have CODA and can confirm it is fully English friendly but think they did another pressing for International customers to make that happen.

Yeah, they did a low effort BD25 barebones release with only Italian subtitles in February.
And then, as if being caught off-guard by it winning best picture, they released it on 4K a few months later, and completely re-did the BD as well to include a higher bit rate, extras and English subs.

Waiting on this one (standard not steel) to hear about the english subtitles etc. So when you guys get it (or if someone will be able to confirm) please let us know. Another title I'm dying to get and worry it won't come to the US. Hoping once awards start they'll give us a 4k, but if not I'll import this once we know for sure.

Honestly it's a shame how companies like Apple and Diney destroying physical media. We have to get a US release from a European country. This is beyond unacceptable. We still don't have Coda. Apple haven't milked it enough already?

There wouldn't be no Killers of the Flower Moon if it weren't for Apple.
And they will definitely not release this through Paramount of whoever before it's released on ATV+.

So have a bit of patience.
