Default Bitstream Pops On Harold & Kumar!

Ok watched Harold and Kumar 2 last night pretty funny, but got a total of 12 bitstream bombs on my onkyo reciever. Now I have never had this happen before, and it is fairly new onkyo 805 I bought it in April so i know about the firmware update. Anyone else watch it and experience this by bitstreaming the audio to your reciever?

You know about the firmware upgrade or you have the firmware upgrade installed?

The "bomb" is corrected by a DSP update, not a FW update FYI.

Very helpful thread here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1016297

Well, may be you have to check the manufacture date.Might be a old stock so that you might have to do the DSP update.
I bought my 805 in March and still it has the DTSHDMA bomb..I use my ps3 to play the DTSHDMA discs..which is not a permanent solution.I am too lazy to update it ..anyways I guess its time now!

The thread I linked showed the corrected DSP numbers, and how to check them. It will literally take you 30 seconds to see what DSP you are running and see if you have the old one.

Just to add more credibility to the bitstream bomb issue. I am watching it now on PS3 via HDMI PCM to a $13,000.00 Crestron system. I am getting the bombs sporadically as well. I see the primary receivers have been Onkyo here, but just letting you know the high price ones get hit too.

Ok I watched and listened to this and the audio pops are not that bad.

They were way worse on The FLy, they scared the hell out of me on that bluray.

This time, it happens a bit but nothing to worry about as far as ruining your equipment.

Annoying that they are there... yes... dangerous.. no.

First movie I have ever seen that had a threesome with a bag of pot...wow...

I got the repeatable pops on PS3 using LPCM, 2.42 firmware and upgraded firmware on Onkyo 705. I did not see this issue with HK1. Like someone else posted, these were around the branches.

What is the issue with Die Hard 2? I watched that before the PS3 had DTS-MA via LPCM.

Default Harold and Kumar - you've got to be kidding

Just watched the H&C Escape From Gitmo -- this is far and away the most rediculously bad transfer I've ever seen. The video quality isn't bad but the audio is absolutely terrible! The dialogue was a bit behind the picture the entire movie and there was nasty popping every 30 minutes or so. Can't believe transfers like this happen on a technology that is this mature.

I suspect that this might just be your copy. I rented it off of NetFlix and didn't have either of those issues. That said, I was still disappointed in the film itself.

Hm...very strange. My copy is also from Netflix and the disc itself appears to be in good shape. Just the audio is amazingly bad. I don't understand how that can happen.

This wasn't a transfer, it was actually shot in HD.
