My daughter owes me money. I told her the digital code was hers once I got paid. She said I was mean. I told her that love can be painful. Then she said she'd be over with the money so she can get the code.

Default Playback on Sony UBP X800

Hi Guys,

Is anyone having any issues playing the 4K disc on the Sony UBP X800? Firmware is up-to-date. I unplugged and reset everything too.

Strangely enough, it works totally fine on my Samsung UBD K8500.

Appreciate any help. Thanks!

You might want to ask that question in the Sony 800 thread.

Not a single 4K in any Walmart within 100 miles of me...unbelievable.
Then I noticed the regular Bluray doesn’t even come with a digital code?
Man, what is Walmart doing?

That surprises me about Target. My Target seems to have completely dropped UHD in the last few months (even checked online and had Black Panther UHD as "not sold in store" at my local one) as they just get DVD and Blu stock of new releases, though Best Buy always gets plenty of UHD stock of new releases.

Lol, you're right, I just tried but...

They also wouldn't price match the regular 4k edition at my Best Buy. They said if it isn't available for pick up, they couldn't do it.

Went to Walmart to pick up the standard 4k combo pack and there was not a single one in site. Tons of 2D combo packs, but nothing else which was strange, but not Doctor Strange.

Combine that with strong interest here on this website via the number of people who already had Black Panther in their blu-ray collections (indicating either a preorder or simply a desire to own the movie) PLUS the inability to preorder on Amazon.
This is simply not true. I get it, Black Panther had alot of hype and performed well at the Box Office, but come on let's be realistic. Avengers Infinity War continues to dominate the box office and is something everyone was looking forward to since the very first mention of Thanos in a MCU movie way back when. BP is not going to beat it. IDK why people refuse to accept that.

BP was selling out it's showtimes, but A:IW was selling out so fast they had to add more showtimes and could not keep up with the demand for ticket sales. Definitely ALOT more hype for A:IW

Still hasn’t sold out on amazon. Thor and Star Wars ran out of copies sooner. Maybe Disney realized they were losing out and decided to distribute more units for amazon customers than usual.

Went to Walmart to get get the 4K as well and there were NONE! They couldn’t find them in the back either. So I went to Best Buy and luckily they had plenty of steel books in stock so walked away with one of those instead.

Amazing picture quality. Very rich colors and highly detailed image. According to the website "Real or Fake 4K," it was shot in 3.4K and has a 4K digital intermediate, which explains why it looks so great; I'm surprised, because CGI-heavy flicks usually have 2K digital intermediates. Also, I see why this movie is so popular; it has this wondrous and magical vibe to it, as does Disney's classical animated films, such as The Lion King; the African-themed tunes combined with the breathtaking vistas and the wide shots of the inspiring and imaginative Wakanda incite a feeling of excitement and awe. This movie is truly something special.

I thought we already established on this forum that "Real or Fake 4K" to be a "fake source" with no more inside information than that many of the people on this forum.

I'd venture to say that it looks so great because of the way it was shot and stylized. 4K or 2K DI has less to do with it's greatness than you are putting stock into.

We plan on watching this tonight. My question: being it has Dolby Vision which I can't make use of with my x800, will it still have HDR on my C7 TV? (Sorry if it's a stupid question. New to this 4k game.)

Yes absolutely! Every title that has Dolby Vision is mandated to have HDR10 as per the UHD specifications. So yep, you will still get HDR.
