I just got the new Mondo Steelbook of Black Panther and there's no Dolby Vision logo on the back card. I haven't played the disc yet to check if its a new master, but I know they withheld Dolby Vision from the 2020 'Skywalker saga' re-pressing of Star Wars The Last Jedi (another rare CGI-heavy live action film with a native 4k DI from Disney, that first arrived on UHD with Dolby Vision) so Disney may well be doing that across the board.

From photos I've seen, the label art on these Mondo discs is (fortunately) different from the other 4k discs I have of Black Panther. I'm not sure if they removed Dolby Vision masters from the 23-movie Infinity Saga box sets, or used the same localized disc master with updated label art.
Ive checked the French Mondo steelbook. The release has DV included

according to everywhere else I look, BP is upscaled 4K. Blu-ray.com lists every release except the basic one as native 4K. Is that accurate? Are other MCU releases native 4K?

I don't think any of them are native 4k. According to this site, BP was finished with a 4k DI, so it would be the exception, along with Black Widow.

The 4K DV IE stream on D+ looks very nice and in certain scenes it looks better than 4K disc if you forgive the occasional compression issues.

What about it looks better? Just the opened ratio or something else?

Is this the only MCU movie to have Dolby Vision on disc?

I watched my 4K of Black Panther last night in order to gear up for seeing Wakanda Forever at the theater tonight.

The 4K with Dolby Vision looks great, but several scenes, especially the waterfall fights, also have more of a sound stage soap-opera look, even though I was watching the disc in Cinema mode with the normal cinema frame rate. This is one of those movies where the 4K resolution showcases the limitations of the computer-generated visuals.

Sorry to bump this thread for no good reason but like, every time I contemplate getting one of these MCU movies in 4K, I quickly remember that the Disney+ stream is better in almost every way.

Black Panther is the one that I keep going back and forth on the most because it actually has DV and I feel like it's one of the entries that's actually worth owning, but even then, the D+ stream is IMAX Enhanced and has a dynamic Atmos mix, while the one on the disc is static.

Like, am I ever going to watch the 4K disc over the D+ stream or the 3D version?

The audio on the streaming platform is better? That's wild. Never heard of that before.
