According to this list on dolby's website, apparently Black Panther and A Wrinkle In Time are Disney/Marvel final titles to be released in Dolby Vision in cinemas. https://www.dolby.com/us/en/cinema/t...-releases.html (yes, this means Infinity War will not be in Dolby Vision at Dolby Cinemas, but, yes to Dolby Atmos audio). (Unless they are just "unconfirmed".)
What this means for future UHD BD releases ![]() First Disney DV (Cinema) film was Tomorrowland, then The Force Awakens, then all Disney/Marvel titles since Captain America: Civil War, (up to A Wrinkle In Time). Last edited by benji888578; 04-14-2018 at 04:01 PM. Reason: highlighted "unconfirmed" |

Should be great in 3D too. Can't wait for both.

So now that I have a 4k/3D projector, I'm conflicted which version to get. I guess this is nearly 4k resolution so I like that. But I don't know how good the 3D is. That plus I would have to wait a lot longer to get it, I think I will go with 4K. But maybe both, not sure.

There are no Disney logos on the Star Wars movies either. My guess is they don't want the MCU and Star Wars to give the impression of being aimed at children/family.

They are distributors of the studios which I believe are wholly owned subsidiaries. Technically they are “not” Disney films (much like Star Wars movies). If you go back and look at Miramax movies which were also “Disney”, they never had Disney on the front either. As far as no one ever watching, many folks watch to the very end for Marvel movies due to the after credits scenes.

Disney own the IP but it's Marvel who are making the movie. Same reason why you didn't see Spidey Homecoming presented as "Disney's Marvel's Sony's" movie, Disney had **** all to do with it because it was Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige who were producing it while Sony stumped up the cash. Lucasfilm, like Marvel, operate under that same umbrella: THEY are the ones who are making the movie while Disney pay for & distribute it. So while you'll see Disney logos on all the marketing stuff and merchandise and whatnot, you won't find their studio logos on the movies themselves.

![]() ![]() Why would Dolby list it so early if it's not yet confirmed? ...wait, I guess Dolby Atmos is confirmed, so, they list it there, then update it later if DV is added? I did not know this, I assumed Dolby's listing would not be there until final, arg. ![]() |

I think not having the Disney logo on MCU and Star Wars is simply down to a tactical decision by Disney in order not to have their logo and brand name associated with these movies. |
