AAAAAAAAAH This movie is so good.

The only issue people will likely have with it is if they go in expecting a bombastic action movie because this very much leans into political drama with a sprinkle of action and it worked beautifully. Wakanda and all its' ceremony, the throne of the past and the future, Killmonger; ...I loved every second.

Also yeah this should look as great as Guardians Vol.2 on UHD and I'm pre-ordering it the moment it's available.

Just got back from seeing this at Dolby Cinema. I enjoyed it immensely and would put it in the top tier of Marvel movies. The plot was unexpectedly timely. The villain was one of the better ones. The entire cast was superb. Everyone gets their time to shine. The costumes were gorgeous. And Wakanda is a wonderful new setting with different areas I wish I could see more of.

The HDR and color are superb. There was a night scene where Black Panther fights some soldiers. The muzzle flashes were actually making me wince while I could still see the every detail of the fight in the seemingly pitch black. The Atmos was typically great. And while the Kendrick Lamar album is getting all the hype, I found the original score to be incredibly interesting and unique. This will be a great disc when it comes out.

Yeah, it’s good stuff. I’m excited to get the disc because it’s going to look better at home than the screening I saw tonight.

And that right there is why it's getting positive reviews and has a high RT score.

I just got back from watching it in Dolby Cinema as well, I loved this movie! The hype was well justified IMO. I also received a prelude comic book at the theater and on the back it says, "Discover Marvel Studios films; Mastered in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos; Only at Dolby Cinema", so would this mean Black Panther could be Marvel/Disney's first UHD blu ray with Dolby Vision included??IMG_0089.jpg

Loved it. It felt so standalone. Like a comicbook movie but not tying into anything else.
Also Maybe first Marvel 4k Bluray with Atmost/Dolby Vision? I know the Vudu copies of the movies use Vision but they haven't released a 4k Blu with Vision right?

In just a few scenes Russos did more for T'Challa character than this entire movie. He felt... boring? Uninteresting?

Sloppy script, poorly shot action and fight scenes, terrible third act with really, really awful CGI fight between Black Panther and Killmonger. By the way, he's another bad Maevel villain. He has good backstory and motivation, but they clearly didn't know what to do with him so he's generic bad giy who wants to rule the world.

Letitia Wright (Shuri), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Lupita Nyong'o (Nakia) and Winston Duke (M'Baku) stole the movie from everyone else.

Wouldn't look too much into it. Guardians and Thor were mastered in Dolby Vision as well.

If Disney keeps the blue theatrical poster artwork with the gold border they're using on all of their 2018 4K packaging, it'll be one mighty good looking slipcover.

I’d take it with a grain of salt, MCU movies have been in Atmos/DV since Civil War.

I like the look of the Steelbook. Went ahead and pre-ordered. With the reviews this movie has been getting I think this is a pretty safe blind buy.
