Well then, volume, dynamic range, whatever. Disney, please get your s**t together in the audio department!

Seriously, Dis needs to do something by the time Avengers: Infinity War
arrives on disc (most likely sometime in August).

it means that, there is extra picture info in the DV stream, and not just meta data, so this has the full 12 bit enhancement, previous Disney titles only had the meta data in the DV stream so they were only 10bits.

But does that mean anything on our current TV sets which are all 10-bit displays?

At least Infinity War had better CGI except for the Hulkbuster scenes.

Not sure that they're getting the extra bit depth seeing as a LOT of sources are still mastered to 10-bit anyway, but having a proper DV enhancement layer atop the 1000-nit base layer means that there will be >1000-nit highlight detail for sure, unlike on Last Jedi where the HDR grade was so minimal it could've made do with 100 nits never mind 1000 or 4000.

What it means is that it has more info available when DV tone maps to your display, think of it as over sampling to give you a more accurate picture.

This is the answer. Not unique to BP at all.

The EQ still sucks but if you bump up your volume a bit and up the subwoofer level it sounds a little bit better on the affected movies.

I know why they do it. It’s less data heavy and is easier to stream and broadcast. They don’t want to have the post production and delivery teams making a million outputs. Honestly if they just could just render everything and then demux and remux to mix and match what they need.

This picture definitely contains a lot of blacks. Not sure how murky they are.

By murky you mean a raised black level? Or maybe I'm thinking of milky. Either way I don't believe that's the case here.

However it might have a similar crushed shadow situation to GotGV2, or at least the stream is like that.

Looks like I'll be canceling my pre-order and just watch it on the net somewhere. Won't get any of my money until they fix the audio issues

I think that’s more of an if than a when. I don’t believe it’s an oversight. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Infinity War sounded muted in theaters, so not I’m so sure the blu-rays are messed up.

I saw Infinity War and Black Panther in Dolby Cinema.

The ATMOS mixes were more than adequate in theater.

Seriously guys, regarding the "low-volume-itis" Disney seems to be suffering of late, can I ask something: can we start an online petition addressing this?

Yup, start it cause I'm signing it twice. This is pure BS it's no way they don't know about AQ issues by now. This is no excuse and also the PQ is NOT that great either. This movie made them so much money in the theater and to buy this and bring it home. We get subpar PQ/AQ to NOT enjoy at home, Smh...

So can we get an HDR10 vs Vision comparison at some point? I would like to see the differences.
