Anyone care to tell me what "Cinematic Universe Edition" mean? I was going to guess and say the 4K versions, but then I remembered the Doctor Strange Blu-ray having one too.

Strangely enough, it works totally fine on my Samsung UBD K8500.

Appreciate any help. Thanks!
I kept my X800 when I got the Oppo so I loaded Black Panther up on it. The Sony had no problems with the disc. I did pay more attention to the audio. It sounds like it's a badly mixed compressed track. Disney should be ashamed of itself. I can't believe that the Marvel folks are pleased with this.

Just something Disney made up so they can charge more then normal for the 4K.

Doctor Strange use the same formula for its 3D version..."Cinematic Universe Edition".
I think Disney they are not only confused audio dynamics wise but also formula dynamics wise.

They need to hire new kids up to today's trends. ...Best Sound & Picture.
And new film directors with that Disney magic film touch; intelligent scripts with passionate action and tension and entertainment all across the board. The killing of 3D and 4K audio makes them second-rate Hollywood movie studio now, IMHO.

I turned this one -10 from reference and it didn’t sound as good as it should. I popped in my new Gladiator UHD and that movie is way more dynamic and full compared to Black Panther. Kinda disappointing and I hope Infinity War isn’t like this in UHD.

They use the same banner but with "Ultimate Collector's Edition" on the non-MCU UHD releases, so I figure "Cinematic Universe Edition" is just the variant they use for MCU movies.

“Cinematic Universe Edition” = even if you don’t have the hardware for 3D or 4K, you will buy this version to prove you are a “true” fan, I mean look at this slipcover it’s clear/embossed/holographic you filthy junkie. Love, The Walt Disney Company

So, many Walmarts had no copies, but online, no problem. Free shipping, 2 day delivery. Annoying, but I'll take it!

So let them make a frikkin' separate soundbar audio track. They're already throwing like 30 foreign language tracks on most discs (yet foreign movies typicaly have NO English dubs what-so-ever since they think Americans enjoy reading subtitles all day long while everyone else hates it).

The bottom line is that if you keep buying sub-par audio soundtrack Blu-Rays, they'll keep right on making them! Ah, but that will never happen because people want this movie. It'd sell even if were only available in black and white, pan & scan and a mono soundtrack!

Most people DON'T CARE about sound quality. Hell, most don't even have soundbars! They listen with the TV speakers! I remember big projector sets in the 1990s actually had large speakers on them. These flat screens sound tinnier than an AM broadcast from the 1930s (hell console radios often had large speakers in them). But it's the same reason that CDs started out well and by the end of the 1990s, they all sounded like CRAP because LOUDER is apparently BETTER!!! So now, quiet is better? Don't bother your neighbors because you live in a Condo or Apartment building so let's make it quiet??? Best picture quality EVER, but sound is going backwards....

Good thing for me that TRON Legacy came out before Disney started making CRAPTASTIC soundtracks for the home environment.

BTW, just TRY and find this issue on a search engine like Google. I tried for five minutes to bring up the poor audio in a search and NOTHING came up but ads and "best of" awards and other CRAP that has NOTHING to do with my search terms. I've noticed this more and more often with Google. It ignores what you're really looking for (and don't tell me that their algorithms have gotten WORSE over the years interpreting what I'm asking) and puts up the highest paying AD responses to any given single word you enter that can generate revenue. It's practically worthless for finding anything even slightly obscure these days. Corporations have taken over and ruined the Internet. You're just advertising dollars to them. Hell, even Adblock is worthless these days as 85% of the sites can detect you're using it and refuse access. Workarounds don't seem to work too well. Enjoy 1000 ads per paragraph of text (Ever see the articles split into 50 parts with one paragraph an two dozen ads per page??? That's common now. It's to make big money off 2 minutes of work.) But then people spend ALL DAY reading Facebook...to share photos of themselves crapping on the toilet! Hooray for social media and social morons!

That's the power of Disney's new 4K advertising.
They took it from what they killed; 3D.

I'm just hoping with the 4K slipcovers having the rounded edges and the spine doesn't go all the way up to the top with so much dead space inside that the sticky cardboard that's most likely being used to ship it in won't mess it up too bad. That's one reason I always buy in store when possible. I ordered it early Tuesday AM and it shipped around 2:30pm, said it'd arrive Wednesday at first but now it got pushed back to Thursday. Which sucks but that's when I expected it anyway so it's fine.

I just compared the UHD in Dolby Vision to the standard bluray and the UHD is definetely presenting some bad crush. Especially in darker scenes you can clearly see that there's more to it than just the director going for so much darkness. So much detail detectable in the standard bluray is completely gone in the uhd

Oh man this movie was bad. One of the most overhyped movies I have ever seen. Glad I never saw it in theaters.
Awful acting
Awful screenplay
Terrible CGI
Soundtrack wasn't impressive
What a waste of Andy Serkis my God.

The only good thing was Chadwick Boseman. And he was better in Avengers.

Hopefully part 2 will be better.

Agreed. Overly dark picture, & inconsistent PQ from scene to scene. It was alright but pretty disappointing overall.

Love the actual film though!
