Agreed, we are getting 7 movies in this collection for around the price of $30. Like you said, there are bound to be a few duds in there, but I like to have the whole set too.

Honestly I'm still a little sticker shocked on the price (in a good way). From day 1 I was expecting this to be $50ish, but once I found out new special features were being created for EACH FILM I thought that would be a steal. The fact I have a copy locked in for $28 is just amazing.

No disrespect to any fan of this.

But this has to be one of the stupidest horror franchises of all time.... IMO

I watched the first 2 films and they were horrible IMO. never saw any of the others but i just saw a clip from In da hood on youtube
[Show spoiler]where he rips off the polices leg off lol,
give me a break, that lil shit and the cop shot at him about 5 times and not one bullet hit him hahaha

haha thats amazing how opinion can differ, I havnt seen any of them until last night. I put the first one on netflix and absolutely loved it and laughed the whole way through, so its a definite buy for me at 28$ thats a steal for a whole franchise of films (although im sure the sequels will be bad) but the first one had some great creepy moments too (the entire intro is surprisingly moody)

but if youre not into horror-com, or cant take it with a wink and a laugh then its def not for you.......it is a leprechaun after all...even the premise is insane! so that shouldve been youre first clue haha

And the Exorcist set coming out in September.

still have yet to get the Chucky set, not happy with how expensive it is currently. I will wait until the price drops a bit.

yeeeech

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00L...pf_rd_i=915398

finally shows up on Amazon.ca - $43

I guess that's pretty accurate considering Amazon.com shows it for $34.99 (with exchange and shipping it's cheaper for me to order it from .ca)

should have jumped on it when it was $27.99 - oh well.

The Chucky set was $32 for several weeks on Amazon but jumped back up to $60 weeks ago.

I bought it but actually got rid of it because I don't like any of the sequels. So, I just bought Child's Play 1 and have that now. Same exact disc as what was in the set anyway -- no new transfer.

Leprechaun... I actually did like parts 2 and 3 as a kid. I thought part 1 was ok. I don't know what I'll think now. I'm wavering.

DVDPacific - flat shipping rate of $5.96 for 1 item, so for a boxset it's worth it.

$27.27 + 5.96 + US conversion to CAD should come out to around $35

thanks for the link Lacrymosa. I am cancelling my amazon preorder as we speak. Worked out to $36.20 after taxes, shipping and conversion. Much better deal.

Has it been confirmed if this will include digital copies for all the films, or just the new one?

I haven't read any confirmations regarding which movies in the set will be getting a Digital copy also, but most probably only the newest movie (Leprechaun: Origins)

Same like the Chucky set, released last year, only the newest movie in the set (Curse of Chucky) got a digital release included.

I'm more interested in the picture, audio transfers and subtitles of the old ones (1-6). I hope we will get a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 the least on them.

Who knows maybe we'll see a HellRaiser set release next year, or maybe when the new reboot/movie gets released...

You have to view them as comedy horror even though they seldom made me laugh.

The Leprechaun is pretty invincible until you use a 4 leaf clover against him which has been the only way to destroy him.

As has been stated a few times already, there are currently HD digital versions of the film available. They look quite good considering the age/budget of the material, and considering this is Lionsgate and not Echo Bridge, I think DTS-MA 2.0 is all but guaranteed for each film. (With a 5.1 or 7.1 DTS-MA mix for origins)

With Candyman 2 just being announced at SDCC for release in 2015 by S!F, I'd say it's going to be a while.
