Really hope one day that Neca or someone will give the character another shot at action figure immortality.
That looks like a wonderful figure. Wish someone would make it. It's funny how we have Killer Klowns from outer Space figures yet we have like zero Leprechaun merchandise.

Got this set today. A great companion is Now Playing Podcast's Leprechaun retrospective--tying into the new one they have in-depth podcasts reviewing every film in this series!

It's a donation series but you can hear previews at http://nowplayingpodcast.com/archives/npplep01.php

As bad a Origins may be, I think the one positive thing about it is that it gave Lionsgate a reason to release the rest of the series on blu-ray. So whether I end up liking it or not, I'm glad I can finally get rid of my full screen DVDs.
I won't be getting rid of my full dvds since I enjoy collecting films on all types of formats but not having these films in widescreen has been bugging me for years. I even tried keeping a look out for HD HBO airings but even they would air them in fullscreen on their HD channels.

Agreed
I still catch myself quoting some of Morty's quotes to this very day lol

I picked up the Leprechaun Complete Movie Collection last night for only 20 dollars at Best Buy as I had a 10 dollar off reward zone coupon. I was quite impressed by the amount of extras included. The first 6 films each have a commentary track with the first film getting a 2nd commentary track with star Warwick Davis. The first 6 films also get very in depth making of featurettes that run from 21 to 30 minutes in length along with some behind the scenes footage for some of the films as well.

Picture quality is superb with each film being presented in their original widescreen aspect ratios. Lossless audio is present as well. I did watch the first film last night and it looks absolutely incredible with colors that pop and a nice layer of film grain too with no DNR used. The print was in excellent shape and I only noticed one long thin vertical black line for a few seconds near the end of the film. This is actually one of the best bluray releases of the year in my opinion. I'm planning on watching the 2nd & 3rd films tonight!

I took the sticker off of the slip on mine and used some goo gone to get rid of the stickiness and now part of the slip rubbed off.

Mine arrived from Amazon yesterday, slipcover and all! I feel like some forum members are like the ol' Leprechaun when it comes to slipcovers. "Where's me slipcover!?"

Really a great collection, TONS of bonus features - at least more than I'd expect from a Leprechaun blu-ray set. Nice divvying up of movies per discs, the first two, the sequels in wacky locations, and the urban duology. And then the unwanted Origins on a separate disc.

Now I gotta be like Batman and beg for screen grabs. The previous HD version of Leprechaun (1993) which was available on iTunes had a slightly muted color palette and did not use the true original aspect ratio but instead punched in and stretched the picture to fit a fake 16:9 ratio. I think a tell tale sign that this is that same transfer would be if the Lionsgate Horror logo is on the front of the film and somewhere around 10 seconds is cut off the opening. Basically they clipped the cave door opening and him walking slightly. It doesn't fade in but instead just kinda starts. Can you confirm this or not?

Yeah Origins was terrible. Totally wasted opportunity. I wish they went the Chucky route and tried to jumpstart the franchise with a fresh and scarier take using the original continuity.

Can you confirm if the original film appeared the way I mentioned? If it didn't have the Tri-Mark Logo and started with Lionsgate's horror logo instead, then I'm pretty sure it's the exact same transfer. Which sucks cause as I said, it's missing about 8-10 seconds from the opening. Nothing substantial, it's literally the cave door opening and the Leprechaun walking down a few steps, but I prefer to see films as they were released. And I hate when studios switch out the old school logos.
