If you're into Poker, i suggest "The Grand." It won't win any awards, but it made me laugh quite a bit.

Its very recent, but kinda under the radar... The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Powerfull tale.

Always surprised when I meet someone who hasn't seen Penn and Pacino in Carlito's Way. But, from the movies mentioned on this thread I'd assume everyone here has seen it. Also, is Salvador with James Woods considered a Lesser Known Film? Not sure about Once Upon a time in the West - Henry Fonda and Once Upon a Time in America - Robert Deniro

Outlander. New James Caviezel film that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere. I recommend you rent it, as it's not perfect.. but will satisfy fantasy/sci-fi enthusiasts.

+1 High Tension, Downfall, and The Lost Battalion. All excellent films.

Let The Right One In - Reviewed on this site. It's not a vampire movie that clobbers you over the head (except for some pretty graphic scenes) but has stuck in my head since I watched it.

Before The Devil Knows You're Dead - Great mystery, suspense. It's got a lot of well known actors/actresses, but no one I know has seen it.

A Midnight Clear and When Trumpets Fade - Both WWII films but not just for history buffs.

The Road Home (Zhang Yimou / Zhang Ziyi) --

Chinese subtitles. Zhang Ziyi at her most beautiful -- and a beautiful/sensitive film that I wish would come to blu ray.

Following from Christopher Nolan. You might have heard of him, he did a movie about a superhero last year. It was one of his early films and is only available on dvd, but I recommend everyone hunt it down and watch it. There are great twists throughout the script.

Stark Raving Mad. This is a very funny movie about a vault heist. Whenever I talk with anyone about this movie, they never know what I am talking about. Seann William Scott is excellent in this movie.
