True ^^ at retail as well. Since we wall mounted our 1st Z9D we're had a rush of new visitors to see this beauty in person.
Here's two quick cell phone pics. ![]() Left X940D, middle X930D, right Z9D ![]() XBR-65Z9D First impressions are, very bright when needed with no noticeable clipping and the image accuracy is excellent. It's very nice to see the large dynamic tonal range this display can deliver. I invited David Mackenzie and we'll comment more once he puts meters and patterns on the display. |

interesting. Curious to hear your thoughts on the Z9D vs the OldeE6- since the Oled won the shoot out prior to the Z's release. |

![]() Can you run a couple of my test clips on the Z9D, LG and Samsung at the store and post some initial impressions? You can put them on a USB stick and play on the display itself. Banding - The far right rotating gradient should look as good as the center or better. If you have a 940C, you can use that as reference. I know it looks good on that one. Starfield - I am most curious how the first, of four, starfields looks. This has the fewest amount of stars and will be the most difficult. Ignore the compression artifacts on the fourth starfield in the clip. The LG should be your reference on this clip. OLED can light up one pixel at full brightness. Will be curious how the Sony does on this. If you have a JS9500, that has performed the worst on all of the displays I have viewed it on. Mine should arrive on or around 9/1. I will post my results ~9/5. Again, I won't be doing a formal review, just posting raw data. I may provide some subjective impressions. Kris Deering can come over and view it as well along with the others. |

65" I am mounting it on the wall in home office since primary use is pattern development.
Ray, you have both Samsungs, correct? the 9500 and the KS9800. Can you run the two clips and see if they are any better on the KS than the JS? |

![]() ![]() P.S. Of course for purists, in the case of Ultra HD movies, if possible, one optimally should ascertain the consumer TV’s capability in reproducing the creative intent and without knowing the actual client monitor to aid filmmaker supervision - ![]() which was used during the mastering for all the different Ultra HD Blu-ray movies coming out of all the different post facilities, then temporarily setting up a rental BVM-X300 (http://bexel.com/services-rentals/ ) adjacent to all your consumer TVs as a reference or *control* would be optimal because it’s been used during the creation of so many UHD titles and since you’ll never get your hands on a Dolby Pulsar. ![]() ![]() Otherwise people tend not to see the forest for the trees. Plus, the internet nutters will invariably nit-pick the individual trees as to their significance to the value of the entire piece of property. Make it easy for everyone with a bottom line(s) and at the same time beat the ‘pro’ reviewers to boot with an early user assessment. Don't worry about being so PC toward the manufacturers or the owners. I just red a few posts on your camera forum and you seem quite the candid one, on this or that topic over there. That star field patern is terrific looking. Tried it on both my EF9500 and E6 and it was really like watching 3D without glasses. Even the wife said "wow" and she could really care less about image quality. I not too long ago sold my 75x850c and am waiting for the 75Z9D to replace. Can't wait to see how it looks on it. Do you have anymore test patterns to share? |

Ordered it a couple days ago. Here's hoping my scheduled delivery is correct! (I did call Best Buy and they said it should be accurate.)
