until….when a week later, there’s a more dedicated HDR-centric webcast….https://www.smpte.org/webcasts/Stand...ds-HDR-Imaging and, if you prefer, one can also ask more about Application #1 if you fancy that particular approach for its intended purpose.

^ Speaking of New Projects/Revisions and not SMPTE in particular, but rather ITU-R standards, now that BT. 2100 has been published , I’m in favor of working on a revision for BT. 2022 with regards to UHDTV, as explained.

Not a fan of IMDb as a source, two days ago the DI was set to 2K. DCP is 2K. Waiting for more info on this. This will be released in a couple of days here in the Netherlands as well. Then I hope to know more if there is a 4K release.

Sully & Star Trek Beyond are two possible upcoming 4K releases.

Hey Pieter,

I guess we can trust Penton But American Cinematographer also said that The Neon Demon has a 4k DI:

Quote:
The director and cinematographer collaborated on the film's final grade with freelance colorist Norman Nisbet, who graded the movie in 4K with Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve at Act 3 in Copenhagen for a 4K final deliverable. Due to previous commitments, Braier had to move on before the work was completed, but Refn remained to supervise the completion of the grade. The Neon Demon premiered in May at the Cannes Film Festival, where it screened in competition.

Puds, thanks for the kind gesture, but in this case I really don’t know for sure. My intent was to provide Pieter with a definitive contact source.

^ So as not to slight other manufacturers, I’ll note that at the last ITU meeting with regards to HDR video matters, the BBC showed some HDR content on a SIM2 monitor adapted to the HLG EOTF for display.

And, so not as to slight the PQ signal format, Dolby showed PQ EOTF content on not the 4,000 nit Pulsar monitor of which probably every 2 cent HDR A/V blogger and journalist has referenced by now in their past posts/articles….but rather on one of Dolby’s 2,000 nit displays.

For inquiring minds in thee OC part of Southern California, to be specific, it’s ^ the ETX auditorium which is being Dolby Cinema renovated. And with regards to having dem eyes checked as noted in the P.S., well there is free parking (which is a damn rarity in SoCal) in the multi-level garage off Dawn Way, then proceed a short walk to Pavilion 2 (2nd floor).

Per the P.S. ^ the Institute has some of the latest diagnostic imaging devices, although, don’t expect to be tested with glasses like this for Nico…..
