i tried something today - was watching the 3D version Then i turned OFF the 3D - the movie became grain-full but i also Think it became a bit sharper than it's 2D counterpart disc

Having revisited these movies in November i've actually started watching them again this month. The 3D is so good in this movie, absolutely stunning and i love the movie. Always go with the EE though, haven't seen the theatrical in a long time.

Gee two times in two months. Phew. But after just having just seen in 4K, I am kind of wanting to see in 3D now... And Atmos!

Yeah I really love them and have watched them multiple times since their release. I love the world and the scale of it, along with the action scenes. The characters too. If only the LOTR movies had been converted to 3D.

I found the story & 3d in this to be inferior to the 5 Armies 3d EE.

While I think that more 3D is always a good thing, admittedly the film takes a good while to get going so if you are pressed for time you don't really lose anything by watching the shorter version.

Yes agreed, excessive CG aside I do think these movies are beautifully crafted and pretty stunning to behold. I think all 3 movies are 5 star experiences. More 3D is always welcome and the native 3D photography is pretty stunning.
