the above ^ is a little dated as there are now 14 percentile values available with some tools. As a bonus to LordoftheRings, the pdf delves into more technical detail than our past Bezier curve discussion in 2017 - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...r#post14519727

You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.

I see . So that’s why Samsung originally went with 7 percentile values as described above.

Sounds like a presentation worth attending. Do you have to be part of the union or can anyone at Cinegear attend?

People need to understand that just because a movie is graded on a display that is 1000, 4000 or even 10000 nits does not mean they use all the brightness. Just like you can grade a black and white movie on a color monitor.
Since PQ is absolute, it should track it perfectly and stop at the contents upper limit. However, I know someone at one studio that wanted displays to stretch the content to use the full capability of the display, which goes against the idea of an absolute curve.

Sony, LG Electronics, Panasonic and Skyworth get their panels from LG Display. I just wanted to make it clear that LGE and LGD are not the same company and LGD does not share info with LGE about their other partners. It is an interesting situation.

Anyone, you don’t have to be a member of Local 600. It’ll be upstairs from the Sherri Lansing Theatre.

Speaking of CineGear 2019 - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...r#post16387338
In terms of who’s exhibiting and what would be (and was) a good camera jet (Helinet Aviation’s CineJet) -

and camera system -

to film aerial action of Top Gun: Maverick with, well, they’re on the list in the H’s - http://www.cinegearexpo.com/la-expo-exhibitor-list. To get a rough idea, a sample image (this sequence not in the movie and with another high rez HDR capable camera) of what it looks like while tracking a non-military jet, in this case over the GG bridge –

Not to forget, with regards to the Patriots Jet Team’s partnered contribution to the CineJet, I already gave them a shout out last fall illustrated with a cool in cockpit video in the sky around San Diego on our sister, non-techno thread - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...s#post15787247

Who knows what movie star may have trained in one in order to further his flying skills.
