Penton,

I've been noticing a flurry of HD DVD software sales. Is this a concerted effort by the HD DVD PRG to retain legitimacy as an HDM format, the result of stores returning their HD DVD inventory, or little bit from Column A and little bit from Column B?

Edited to add:

Damn my reading comprehension, or lack thereof. This is the same question that elwaylite posted less than an hour ago. My bad. Please ignore.

Penton:
Any thoughts on when other studios will line up with WB to release most everything catalog or new release as day and date with the DVD counterparts? This commitment from WB I think will really help the transition from SD-DVD to HD Media (blu)

Hey,
This morning I woke up and the sun came up from the EAST!!
Any chance this means that the HD PRG is giving up?

Or maybe it means that Best Buy and Kays Jeweler's will be going BLU?

Any way thanks for letting me waste your time with another question, even though you said we should be patient

How are the girls doing?

Hell, you would be a multi-millionaire by now if you had a penny for everytime he made a post that contained the statement "I don’t speak for the studios, but........."

Is this to show the format still has life, or is it good news for BD?
As they lower the coffin in the ground, I would expect they will practically be giving away the poor man’s clothes almost as collector’s items.

Sorry, I have no information at this time............well, other than the fact that some people may now be starting to realize how significant the WB decision was to the format war.

I’m currently trying to get a picture of *the family* (well, at least 3 of them together). I’ll post it when I’m successful.

I wonder if it was a couple of days or just a matter of hours.
And I'm sure once they go Blu, there will be about 20 pages of rejoicing in about 20 minutes, then someone will ask about Weinstien.

Actually once Paramount goes Blu, I won't care any longer since Universal can sink on the HDDVD ship along with Toshiba for all I care.

Well, many of us DO care, and want Universal movies.

Once one of the remaining studios goes blu, the clock will be ticking out-loud for the other studio to follow.

Hi Penton!

Just a quick questrion, that can be answered by either "Yes", "No", "Maybe" or "I don't know". The only response I'd rather not see is "Can't say"

Is there something currently in the work by the BDA concerning the release of new BR player models and having a more agressive price on existing ones possibly soon, and accompanied by promotions on discs as well, in order to counter some of the "Scorched Earth" tactics currently used by Toshiba ?

Feel free to comment some more if you'd like, of course

Penton,

It seems to me that the BDA has now taken their foot off the gas. Why dont they keep on kicking HD-DVD now that its down?

Im getting annoyed at the lack of bluray advertising present in the BB and CC ads lately, while HD-DVD is getting plenty of firesale promotion.

Anyway, can we expect any more bluray promotions any time soon?

Bluray needs to start the fighting the REAL enemy:

DVD!

Edit: My post sounded probably more angry than I actually was hehe.

No offense taken Chris, and hope your procedure goes smoothly.
We're all Blu here, no need for bad blood. Only for HD DVD's blood

Edit: I should not be posting this evening. I am under sedation for a procedure tomorrow, and apparently the medication has had more of an impact on my inhibitions than I thought. If I can get the stupid delete post button to work, I will delete the post. Sorry, the rant about the Uni/Para questions has been boiling under the surface for a while and I should not have let it slip out.

Edit 2: Got post deleted. Would like apology to remain up for a bit, though mods feel free to remove after it has had a chance to be seen by those I feel I should apologize to. Sorry Elandyll, Sorry Merrick, who I was basically directing my rant at though I did not say so directly but I feel I should still apologize to especially since on a second read of his post it did not say what I read it to say, and sorry Penton for polluting your thread. Folks, never post an opinionated post when you do not have your full faculties about you. Mea culpa. Be back when tomorrow's ordeal is over.

Chris

I was merely asking if Penton had any knowledge of a general Blu Ray promo coming, and -that- the BDA can certainly organize, even if the details are left to its members.
Also, this being said, another thing that has been asked to members is to not answer question in lieu of the actual insiders if they can avoid it, which has plagued the old insider's thread. Remember?
Now wether Penton can or even choses to answer, is up to him.

So, get off your high horse for a sec, and everything will be better
k?
