There is one in the 'Wish List' forum
since there is no official release date yet.

The 605 is a 2008 model so yes, it probably is affected. Onkyo's '05 series were the first DTS-MA capable and there is a flaw in DTS' encoding method causing the noise spikes. This was discovered and the decoding DSP app re-written. You can apply the DSP update yourself or take it to an authorized Onkyo service center...check your warranty status first.

i have a ps3 does this affect me since i dont bitstream?

For now, no, since the PS3 has a completely different decoding method (in some ways superior). But it's still a good idea to get the DSP and firmware updated, since it increases performance and you'll may want to bitstream in the future.

Got in line 15 minutes before Target opened, went straight to electronics, and got my copy of lotr trilogy for 7.99. It was also in a plastic case instead of spider-wrap. Everyone else was too worried about the tvs and fuzzy blankets to even realize what kind of a deal this was!

They're back up to $12.99 each at Amazon now. So glad I jumped on this deal.

And this is why Target's reputation is going to take a beating I think, if they can't fulfill all the orders they sold for the trilogy at $7.99. Because so many people that were counting on Target, have now most likely missed out on the opportunity to score the films individually at the still impressive price of $7.99 each.

Stores face this everytime there is a huge sale like this and people rush to get the stuff. Back in the 80's while in highschool and college I worked at Toy R Us. There use to be tons of these types of sales during summer for pools and other HUGE yard things and for Christmas time. Always you would have clients complaining that we ran out and it's not fair and blah blah blah and I won't ever shop at your store again. Yet I kept seeing them week after week. It will not affect Target one darn bit. The same people who are mad now will rush into the Target stores for the next big sale and post all over the Internet their joy at getting the product they wanted at low price and a bunch of them will complaint and go blah blah blah and so on....the circle of life continues.

Oh I agree with you...it will not affect their overall sales whatsoever, and I'm still going to shop there, but I can personally promise you (and I'm not kidding here), that I won't be buying any Blu-ray related media from them again if they fail to follow through on this sale. And I don't even care whether or not I get the LOTR set, that's the funny thing. What matters to me is companies sticking to their word and being smart about how they play the marketing/advertising game. If I'd been in charge of the sales for this set, there'd have been so many safety measures taken, that it simply wouldn't have been possible for the sale to get out of control like it did. In fact, I wouldn't have allowed the set to be priced that low in the first place, which frankly, is absurd (I mean, c'mon, let's be serious...a set that generally retails for around $70-$80 for $8?)...But obviously, I'm not running things at Target...

Yea me too. Im glad I took advantage of it when they were so cheap. The only problem I am having with Amazon is it is saying they wont ship the three movies until after Christmas. Delivery estimates is 12/30 to 1/12. When you go to Amazon and search for them, they each say usually ships within 7 to 13 days. That doesnt make sense at all to me. I sent Amazon an Email. Is anyone else having this problem??

I think majority of us are having that issue. The movies are most likely back-ordered. Though I may be incorrect.

That's why I rater buy from BB, or use my GF's Prime account. Don't worry, I have 6 movies that hasn't been shipped. I have Kindle from Amazon that I ordered 3 days ago and it's on it's way vs. the 6 movies I've ordered less than a week ago that's still pending.

Target is now in the process of sending out cancellation notices (at least for those people who didn't have a Target account and checked out as guests).

I just received the cancellation e-mail, and I ordered only 1 copy just minutes after the sale went live...

That's why I got mine from Amazon. Of course I hated The Return of the King so that didn't hurt either.

Yeah just got my cancellation email as well. Luckily I ordered all three when they were 7.99 each as back ups.
