I was looking forward to the November 3 release. With the horsepower that must have been applied to what is certainly New Line Cinema's most important movies ever released, I can't imagine what lack of planning could have caused a delay - unless NL/Warner is hoping that stirring up controversy will generate more sales?

I think that we are going to have both the threatical and extended editions after the complaints from the fans.

I really hope it isn't delayed. I'm happy with getting the theatrical cuts for the time being. I can wait a couple of years fot the extended editions.

So let me get this straight, all this speculation about a delay is based on literally no "news" whatsoever, just the lack of an announcement? Even though WBshop still lists the release date as unchanged?

I for one am glad they are pushing some of these! There is already way to much to keep up with when you factor in: Gone With the Wind, Forrest Gump, The Wizard of Oz, Snow White, UP, North By Northwest, It's a Wonderful life, blah blah blah.......and all the already released catalogue titles out there.

Next Year would be a good year for Alien, LOTR EE'S, Dances with Wolves EE (EE is a must on that one) The Exorcist (both Cuts), The Right Stuff, more Hitchcock and maybe we will be seeing some Spielberg stuff

I'm with this guy. I won't be getting my panties in a wad until there is something more concrete. (BTW, even if they do announce a long delay, I still won't be getting my panties in a wad...just a little disappointed).

Yeah tbh while I DO love these movies, they are very long and I didn't watch them that much when I owned them on DVD due to length. I will still buy them day 1, whenever that is.

Exactly. What choice do the buyers have? Personally I wasn't going to dd anyways and just hold off for the EE.

Its not worth getting my briefs in a bunch...its only a movie and said movie will come out when its supposed to come out.

Why does it matter if it releases with other movies? You aren't forced to buy it the day it's released. If it is already released, you can buy it at your pleasure, instead of waiting for it when you do indeed want to watch it.

Yeah, maybe they realize many people will not buy the theatricals, because everyone knows the extended will eventually come.

But if this does happen, I wonder how much $$$ that will add to the set.
