No link is needed. As I stated before, He explained this in the intro to the FOTR EE.

I never heard of LOTR getting Imax releases. As of the current EEs no there is no shifting aspect ratios. I think TDK only had that due to limited options for the use of IMAX cameras.

There a quite a few movies that were shot with IMAX cameras. I personally have seen Superman Returns, Speed Racer, Harry Potter 4 and 5, Spiderman 3, and TDK on IMAX. LOTR was not available on IMAX when it came out.

Just because a film has seen an IMAX release does not mean it was shot on IMAX cameras...

Joe Cain is right (see immediately above). Just because a movie is shown at an IMAX theatere does not mean it was shot with 70mm IMAX film. The Dark Knight is the first feature film I ever remember that got the true IMAX treatment, as opposed to regular 35mm film. The IMAX film couldn't be used in all of The Dark Knight for the same reason it rarely gets used at all: it's far too expensive (half a million for one camera and additional, enormous expenses for the film) and cumbersome (i.e. they are extremely heavy and large, and they only load a few moments worth of film at a time, requiring the constant changing of cameras, etc). In the Bonus Features they explain that there were 4 IMAX cameras in the world when they began (which was a surprise to me), but that 1 of them was destroyed in the chase scene on "Lower 5th."

Are you saying this is what they did with The Dark Knight? If so, I'm afraid you're mistaken. They certainly did use actual IMAX cameras and IMAX film. There's a lengthy feature about it in the Bonus Features. They discuss at length the challenges of filming with IMAX cameras and they are shown on screen changing out the IMAX film in the camera. There is also a scene where they take a small scrap of 35mm film (4 frames worth) and set them on a tabletop nearby next to 4 frames worth of the IMAX 70mm film they're using to show the viewer how they look to one another by comparison.

No I know that TDK was filmed with actual IMAX cameras but Harry Potter isnt. Just like for Order of the Phoenix in IMAX. They blew up the 35mm scenes to 70mm and then converted it again to 3D. Harry Potter was not filmed with IMAX cameras. They probably either used 35mm cameras and are converting the footage to 3D or shot some scenes in 3D with 2K Digital Cameras.
