Be sure your Firefox browser (or other browser) is not distorting your colors. These are a lot of threads on this. Here's one:

Distorted Colors on Firefox

If you think the colors of the screenshots I posted are " way off" and "saturated", then there is something seriously wrong with your monitor or your browser's color management. Just a tip.

Wow! Are you serious? Those screenshots look awesome considering it's 106" screen.

Yes, it's an issue but don't make a big deal out it or the fanboys will pelt you with rocks.

Time - 1:01:54

Edit: Occurs again at 1:03:56.

First time for only 2 seconds, second time for about 20.

Lines are very then, but seeing as it is a night scene, when the white one pops up it definitely catches your attention.

Well good to know. I was worried that it looked bad. But if it looks good to other people maybe its my monitor. As long as it looks good on blu. I just bought it and was worried. I know people are sayin Fotr is soft. But I expect the other two to be good quality. My wife is watching american idol on the nice tv. LOL I always get stuck on my old tv for the wife. But when AI is done Im going to do a quick sample.

Well, I finally broke down and bought the set today. Hopefully FOTR will be a much more pleasant viewing experience than Gladiator. If not, then something's gonna be posted in the Trading Forum.

Someone mentioned earlier that his sub was hating him because the soundtrack was putting the sub through hell. Is this soundtrack capable of damaging a sub?

Any soundtrack is capable of damaging a sub, if you do everything else wrong.

This soundtrack has an abundance of low-frequency thunder.

I don't remember the last time I was so excited about watching a movie at home. Saturday my mom is picking up my son and taking him to the Youth Fair. My wife is going with her sister to a baby shower. All alone at home and I can crank the volume as loud as I want.

I mean, if you wreck a sub, it's not the fault of the soundtrack, it is user-error (unless the sub is just faulty); and you don't need a monster soundtrack to send too much power or distortion to a subwoofer... bad judgement can accomplish that just fine.

It's very possible that I'll get it this friday

I'll definitely post my thoughts on the matter if I do get them, seeing that I would somehow be obligated to do so, considering the amounts of posts I've made here

I remember having a similar problem with A Bug's Life on an old 60gb launch PS3.

Couldn't get it to work, would just hang on the black screen.

I think eventually I ended up letting it sit there for literally a little over 5 minutes (which feels like a ridiculous amount of time when doing nothing but staring at a friggin' black screen) and it ended up starting and playing fine.... just took time (lots of it.)

The mathematical odds of getting two bad discs in a row is enormous. I guess it's always possible there's a bad "batch" or something, but that is really odd, in my opinion. Take the bad disc and try it out on another PS3 -- maybe the one in the store where you bought it. See if it works there. If it does (and I'm willing to guess that it will) then look up the firmware version and settings. Make a note. Change if needed on your machine and try again.

I don't think it's the firmware, the disc, or the player.

I think I remember that after I asked someone about the problem I was having with A Bug's Life they said it has something to do with BD Live functionality on certain units playing certain titles (not that the units are defective or are going bad, it's just it sometimes gets hitchy with certain hardware configurations,) or that some router's get *****y with BDLive. They said to try either A: Diasble BD Live by disabling online connection -or- B: Let the screen just hang for a long time and see if it loads eventually.

I tried the latter (and it worked,) but he could try the first suggestion first.
